    Hello,
I have never seen a movie that was a true story, that kind of thing will never happen in Hollywood.

Don't they make movies based on true stories?

But yeah they put some "hollywood" touch on them.

All movies are spin and I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't some marketing being done by Zuckerberg to push market share and increase his sale price - something has to boost FB share value. "Emperor without clothes" story keeps coming to mind.................

Heck, you don't even get to 317 without achieving the same thing.

As far as the Farcebook Movie is concerned, I'll give it a miss, just like I do with Farcebook itself.

I think this is going to be a huge movie. It probably won't really help you much in your IM business except for entertainment value.

Of course, Facebook disputes that this movie is factual. It's based on an unauthorized biography. Facebook disputes the book and disputes the movie. You can find all sorts of articles on the book and movie hoopla if you search online. I think there have even been legal wranglings involved, though I don't know to what extent.

But yeah, this is really going to be a talked about movie next month, but it's just a movie. For entertainment.

The story will never be told on film, but they got the idea for facebook with a super-secret device that harvests my brain waves. They have been following me around with it for years, but I wear a hat made out of tin that blocks the waves. However, with them following me 24/7, there are moments when they grab a few ideas, like when I take it off to shower, or when the wind blows it off.

In spite of my efforts to protect the brain waves, so far they've gotten 3 usable ideas: Cars that sense the lane edges for when I'm driving drunk, GPS units for cars that talk to you, for when I'm driving confused or lonely, and Facebook, for when I'm all 3: drunk, confused and lonely. It's gotten way out of hand. God help us if they apply the one I have in mind now!

    I saw this last night.

Honestly, it was HYPED up quite a bit. I was expecting more (maybe since I had high expectations reading best movie of the year).

I have been obsessed with knowing what was real and what was hollywood.

The characters, law suites and events all seem to be real (according to Wiki and blogs I read dating back a couple years). It seems that they took the big events over the years and showed them.

Of course hollywood would add its own spin to dramatize it into a BIG movie and made Zuckerberg look more robotic then I am sure he really is. And leave out the thousands of hours in coding, brainstorming, research that went into the Facebook creation.

That being said, I think it was well worth seeing it.

    Cheers
    Mukul

Has anyone here seen it yet?

I remember the lawsuits but didn't follow it closely. I started to use FB as part of my marketing, etc. but find I really only use it now to communicate with friends and family. Caught up with more old friends in the past year than I did on Classmates in 6

This movie was awesome! I saw it the second week after it came out at my local theater.

People thing big websites like facebook and google asn so simple, but they don't know what these websites have gone through to get where they are and all the problem they go through every day to stay where they are.

Also off topic, but the first domain (also mentioned on the move) FaceMash.com (the original facebook) was sold for $30,000 On flippa.

Funny thing is that Mark didn't buy it, he had let it drop concentrating on facebook.

The guy who registered it is a lucky *******!

The success of Facebook is obvious, but I believe the movie skirts over the lack of character and integrity that was used to building the company. To glorify the success without exposing the apparent lack of morality, is fodder for those of a lesser standard!

This is a movie about the true story of Facebook. Might as well be helpful for aspiring internet marketers.
I loved this movie but I came across a post saying that the reason why Mark Zuckerberg created facebook wasn't to check some chick. PLus, it said that he already had been with his gf since the time he created facebook. So, what is the truth? Either way, I still love the movie but I pity his co-creator played by Andrew Garfield (who is so cute by the way. )
