Wow. Great movie. Went with 2 other people and none of us even talked for awhile after we got out - really intense - really a mind bender. I'd like to see it again. There was always so much going on that I'm sure I missed stuff.

Just WOW.

I saw it last night with a few friends too. It's really a great movie, totally make you think and feel about your mind in a different way. I'd also like to see it again too just to recapture everything. Don't want to go into much details here but ahh all of the actors are fantastic, Di Caprio and Tom Hardy performance worked very well together in this film.

    Hello,

The visuals were great but the story was all over the place.

I saw it this weekend too. I thought the visuals were great also. But I didn't think the story was all over the place. However there is more than one plot line. The director of this movie also directed Memento. If you saw that, you'll get an idea of how he puts together a story.

If you miss any part, you CAN lose your place. But overall, I found it enjoyable.

I saw an interview with Leonardo DiCaprio where he said that there are many movies today with great special effects. There are fewer with great scripts. There are fewer with a great cast and crew. But there are damn few with all of those things and Inception has them all.

I can fully agree with that statement after seeing the film. I only go to the movies a few times per year and I'm glad I chose Inception as one of them. Some of those scenes just won't be the same on a smaller screen.

      Excellent show! Take her, John.

Hey, the electricity went out in our theater 2 times and for awhile each time (hmmm....or maybe those were reality inception moments from someone in the audience who fell asleep??) . We attendees were even told we could go and get refunds. Most people, including me, remained, though. We waited the long haul. Well worth it!

My son & I still talk about all the science in it. Totally awesome. If schools taught science like that, well, there'd be higher enrollment and grades, no doubt

Also brings to mind, excuse the pun, marketing techniques some IMers talk about using with sales letters & other promotional materials, like hypnotic marketing....planting seeds, going for emotions, etc.

I take IMDB stuff with a grain of salt. Shawshank is my #1 and Godfather was *ok*.

Inception was pretty awesome, but might not even be in my top 10.

I don't see how anyone could NOT like Inception though :O I'm going to need to watch it a few more times just to understand it!

          Shrek 3...

LMAO. Just kidding (although they were pretty good)

It's hard to make my top 10 list except Shawshank which is my clear #1.

But a few movies which might crack my top 10, in no particular order, are:

          LOTR trilogy
          Harold & Kumar 1 + 2
Star Trek (loved most of them except a few of the odd numbered ones)
          Star Wars (all of them)
Borat (call me tasteless, but this was freaking hilarious)
The Man From Earth (google it)
          Simpsons Movie
          South Park: Bigger Longer Uncut
          The Bourne Trilogy
          Shaun of the Dead
          Hot Fuzz
          Forgetting Sarah Marshall
          WALL-E
          300
          Superbad

          Yeah...too many to list.

Maybe if I watch Inception a few more times it'll grow on me

Went and and spent $65 to see this yesterday with the wife and sprouts and absolutely hated it. Just because a movie attempts to be complicated does not make it a great movie. The only reason I went to see it was because of this thread too! Not sure what you guys and gals saw in this flick at all. If I had paid for my tickets with paypal I'd be filing a dispute right now and asking for my money back.

Yeah that ending is just geared for a sequel, James.

Matt - I don't think it "attempted" to be complicated. It was a bit complicated but the subject kinda dictated that one. Sorry you didn't like it - but as many others feel - I'd see it again if I had the chance. I LIKED the story line and am glad it had enough layers that I might be able to look forward to a sequel that will cut through one or two of them.

That's funny because I didn't really think it did. I thought the ending was made the way it was simply for the ZOMG factor.

That said, I'd love to see a sequel in the works. I'd be worried as to how you could make the sequel as powerful as this one though.

I mean, we've already been introduced to that world and the characters already. What new stuff could they possibly introduce to the concept to make it as appealing as the first?

This isn't a kiddie movie where a new bad guy just pops up, lol.

Hmmm ^ i think they''' leave it there.

    Here's my question:

when they all came out of the dream in ther van and the two guys swim to the shore and he tells him he's going to break the company up.....so what happens when he wakes up on the plane? He thinks the whole thing was a dream? Didn't he recognize De Caprio from the flight and some of the others?

Yeah i think if it was too complicated for you to follow I guess you might hink ;ike that that's why I would take my son to watch it..Maybe you should buy the book or a comic?

I guess that's what the director wants 2,3,4 viewings...it works. I agree seems I missed a lot in their explanations.

    *****SPOILERS*****

Here's what I do not get:

    1) When they hit the water in the van why do they not come out and back into reality? They are still in the dream world level 1.

    2) Remember when he goes to africa looking at the medicine to knock them into areal deep sleep so they can go 3 levels deep...... De Caprio goes under. When he comes out he spins the totem to see if he's back in relairty but gets interrupted and he sees he's "dead wife." What significance does that part have?

Geez it reminds me of a real complicated computer adventure game... BRILLIANT.

I agree that Inception is one of the highly rated movies of year 2010. It is also in my all time Top 10 list.

After Dark Knight, Inception is one of the masterpiece of Christopher Nolan. This movie again proved the acting talent of Leo Di'Caprio. These two will definitely gain much more from this movie.

Yeah definitley one of the very best movies I have ever watched and it's actually a lot deeper than you initially think. It's as if every line, every acton has some consequence as to the outcome. I still can't get my head around it.

I also think the outcome can be interpretted several diffeent ways none correct nor wrong. Unless one day Mr Nolan decides to spill the beans...

If you are undecided watch it.....and I mean really watch it.

What about somebody giving up on their dreams to be with their family in the end ?

Yeah it was an almost intelligent movie for once & I enjoyed it. Hypnotic time distortion is real also. I think Milton Erickson was able to induce an hour of experience in a second of trance.

I wonder what the upper limit is, also if somebody in that time frame has a certain level of cognitive capacity what does that suggest for their true cognitive ability in real time.
