I have Motorhead on right now

Dio is always great - IMHO 80's rock and metal was when it was at its best - most of the modern bands have no songs and don't have a singer with a signature voice

totally agree! almost all the singers now have almost exactly the same voice. or sound that doesnt really separates them..

I was and still am a lover of the 80's rock and metal bands. Saw all of them in concert including AC/DC, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Tesla, 38 Special just to name a few,
I recently went to see Green Day and was surprisingly impressed with their musical talent.

Do we listen to eighties rock in our household? You might as well asked if we also drink water and breathe in oxygen! We listen to it so much our kids love the music from them too. Give us Ozzy, Metallica, ACDC, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, GNR any day over this crap they call music today!

Absolutely. Like Steven, I've been listening to rock n roll since about
the same time, early 60s. Steve's old, I'm not. Cough...

But yeah, 80s music is some of the best. It's interesting to think of
the music that began in the early 80s, and then how it progressed
    throughout the decade.

Some of the very best power ballads came out during that time.

i think 80's music is really the best. not like what im hearing today. they play more on technicality and not on the value of music. it was all about feel and what they want to let the listeners feel. nowdays its mostly about how fast n how loud n how cool. but some songs now DO have the feel, but not like what the 80s did.

i hope ppl wont start throwing rotten tomatoes at me for sayin dat. hehehehehe~~ juz my 2.5087 cents.

Did I just read a "hell no" for GNR? I know they fell of the face of the earth but "Appetite For Destruction" was absolutely epic! I can still remember the first time I heard "Welcome to the Jungle" on the radio in my old green and battered 1978 Ford LTD (that could top 130 MPH when dared) and it was a near religious experience for me at the time. That's how much that song rocked when it was released.
