Joe Sugarman Is A Terrorist! (According to United)

Joe got thrown off United while flying first class for asking the stewardess whether they were serving any meals during the flight.

Side note: If you're a marketer and you don't know who Joe Sugarman is, buy all his books immediately.

Anyway, the stewardess somehow mis-heard his question to be, "Are there any police on this flight?" and they kicked him off the plane, despite the fact that he's flown over 2.5 million miles with United in the past.

    Oh...my...god. What is American coming to, indeed.

    I'm all for airline safety, but it doesn't make me feel safe to think that when I get on a plane I'm in the hands of a bunch of reactionaries, rather than people with calm heads and common sense.

    Interesting story, that's a real bummer for Joe too

    Unfortunately, there's really nothing we can do about overreaction and strict security policies. This is just a bummer, that's all.

    Coming from an ex-longhaul flightattendant,

    We don't called them stewardess any more!

    Flight Attendant don't get much Oxygen into their blood streams. This lead to many symptom which including brain not function properly!

        Looks like the airline is the one who over-reacted and called the police. He wasn't arrested.

        They investigated a complaint, realized it was a waste of time and the cops moved on. So I would be annoyed and ticked off at the airline not at America.

        Flying has become such a pain and stewardesses mostly just hate their jobs so they take it out on the passengers.

        Reminds me of that David Spade SNL sketch... buh-bye.

        Maybe Joe can give a little PR nightmare so someone else isn't treated that way.

    Ever see meet the parents? YEP, flight attendants are JUST like that! HECK, at least 3 IDIOTS tried to take my laptop. I'm really polite about it and say I don't even trust ME with it, so why would I EVER trust them, and I am paying to get to my destination in one piece, etc... and that INCLUDES my laptop! If I can't get there with my laptop, they are in breach! One time I almost dropped my laptop, because some idiot tried to wrest it from my hands, and, if I had, I would have sued! And I may only fly about 30,000 miles a year or so, though a few times it was closer to 60,000. With united, it WAS closer to 144000/year. But STILL, I have had my fill.

    And WHY would a terrorist want to know if "police" are on board. It's the air marshalls and maybe the military you have to wonder about.

    BTW I knew who Joe sugarman was around 1980. WHY!?!?!? Well, he owned a company called JS&A, and had FULL PAGE advertisements about how the FTC was prosecuting him because a snow storm or whatever hurt his ability to contact customers.
