The countries having an AUSTERITY program, and CUTTING BACK! And did you see some of the things they are cutting back on? One in particular? I COULD say more, but too political! 8-(

Well, two countries said they were cutting back on hospitals and schools -- is that what you're so happy about? The rest said they were cutting back internal government spending, which is what they should do when they're cutting their budget.

I'm all for cutting pure waste in gov to the bone etc.

We had a balanced budget as late as the year 2000. ( or was it 1999 ? )

I don't believe we need to or have to follow the exact path of the Europeans to get out of this mess we're in.

      And I'll say this...

From everything I've heard from you in the past...

If we were to go austere in this nation and used the plans of you and your friends...

Your austerity plan for the USA would be like leaving a wounded war buddy behind...

( to die or to get captured by the enemy )

( When there's plenty of time etc., to help & save him )

when you really didn't have to.

I'm not HAPPY about ANY of that! I wish things grew naturally so they WOULDN'T have to cut back. It simply illustrates that, no matter WHO you are, you have to LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS!

Simple idea, but many don't understand it!

Well, a "balanced budget" doesn't mean no debt or even that you can pay the interest. It's all smoke and mirrors, numbers on a piece of paper. And if my "buddy" were leaving meat along the path we were taking to get away from the dogs, I certainly WOULD leave him behind.

I notice that it's the people that are losing the most. Health, schools, and already low wages for the people. When do they get the clue that it's the GOV spending they need to cut, not the consumer ability to care for themselves.

    This is screwed -- globally.
