Edmonton Indy Car Race This Weekend, Guess Where I live?

The track is at the Edmonton Municipal Airport. I live across the street
My morning has been "blessed" by the sound of ultra high performance race cars doing their practice laps.

While I appreciate the sound of finely tuned supercars, I wonder how I'll feel by the end of race day on Sunday...

Are you appreciating the influx of race fans in your neighborhood?

I live about 50 miles north of Dover Delaware. Home of Dover International
Speedway. Nascar. Two or three times a year they have races. The traffic
just about paralyzes the main highways before/after the race. It sucks.

Yes, it's going to start hitting hard later today. The city is being somewhat proactive, there are signs all over the neighborhood forbidding parking to all but the locals and there are park and ride locations around town. The helicopters piss me off though. Oh well, it's just once a year.

Sell parking in your yard or set up a lemonade stand

I got to admit, buying your guns back would be funnier.

    I can sympathize with you.
I live right down the road from here:
Richmond International Raceway - Richmond International Raceway

We have the same problem you do, we can literally hear every lap of the races held here.
On top of that they are such a big event that our roads are are turned into bumper to bumper traffic lanes.
The up side for people really close to the track is they rent their yard out to people in mobile homes that come to see the races. Short term economy boost.
