Anyone for a second think literally about what we are doing on the web?

  1. We are arranging pixels to look a certain way(website).
  2. Customer enjoys this arrangement of pixels. Types in the numbers from his/her piece of plastic(cc).
  3. Bits of data(product) are sent to a box of metal and plastic which stores this data(customer's email server).
  4. The pixels on our bank account page rearrange themselves. Yippee! Now we can go to the bank, point to the pixels, and get sheets of cotton in return!

  • I understand where you're coming from, but, to me, that's kind of like saying "people didn't really used to read words, it was just an arrangement of ink."

  • The REALLY odd thing is that the pixels don't even really have a color. Then again, color is simply a separation of the spectrum. And is black not sending any light or sending no light?

    • Black is the absence of light or color. Things may also absorb enough light to appear black.
