I remember one of the first bills I got for my oldest son's stay in Picu for his birth defects (6 of the first 7 weeks of his life was spent there - after a helicopter ride from his birth hospital to Duke University). It was for over 139K. and alas it was not the last bill like that - so I definitely know what his family is going through. I have purchased a copy and hope it helps!

I am getting there slowly but surely. this is the last of the bills we hope
I an my wife paid the biggest majority of the cost but just couldn't come up
with the last bit as it stands now with the donations and sales for the last 3 days

Jim, I have and still live your life, my daughter was diagnosed terminally ill, lets say a while back now, and since that date i have lived in hospitals, seen many children suffer and pass away, and a true story was the power of a young girl who passed away and the guts of that girl (and all sick kids) who motivates me still today, what courage these kids have, and yes we suffered the money spin that goes with it. I was so broke once / living in make shifts beds for months in hospitals that my wife and I had to share a meat pie just to eat something.

Sounds funny now I suppose, if there is anything funny about it that is, but I suppose from experience I truly believe that some how these special tasks like you have right now, are reserved for special people to deal with, because they have the ability to rise to the challenge in front of them and of that it would be a given that your role just now is one that you will meet and exceed.

try and leave your post up for a while, i know there were times i asked for help, because i was so broke it was all i could do at the time and if needed i would do it all again.

there are times in life when you can give and also some times in life where everybody needs a little help, it's your turn just now and that help will come.

Hello all

I see Craig has chosen to keep this running for me and my family. So I thought you should know that over night we were able raise another 50 dollars. This now brings out total raised to 556.74 after PayPal took their share.

Thank you seems like so little to say for all you help but right now its the best we can do.

I want to keep this thread going, because Jim's family still needs your help.

With over 1000 views, I thought for sure we would have met the goal by now, but only about half the goal has been met so far.

I still believe there are a lot of caring and giving Warriors out there who maybe haven't seen this yet.

If you have and for reasons only you know, have decided not to help out, please reconsider. Doing good for others not only makes you feel good, but I firmly believe will reap other rewards further on down the line.

Just donated and put a personal message in the paypal instructions. I'm a fellow Mainer and also had a son with multiple medical problems, so I know how worrying it is to have to deal with bills on top of the medical issues.

Good evening everyone.

I wanted to take time to give you an update. I am pleased to say we finally broke the halfway mark. As it stands now we are short just 517.61.

Thanks to the kindness of more of our fellow warriors we have now raised 682.39. This will go a long way toward paying the medical bills left. We are praying that the rest of what we need will be raised soon.

My wife and I want to once again say thank you for your kindness and we thank Craig for keeping this going on our behalf. We are looking forward to the day we can tell my daughter she no longer has to worry about finding the rest of the money.

This is an update for those following this thread.

As of this morning we have broken the 700 dollar mark. To be exact we are now only short 493.89. It has been quite a struggle to reach this point but we are closing in on our goal.

I have said many times already thank you somehow that doesn't seem to me to be enough. The kindness you have shown is overwhelming and we couldn't be more grateful to all of you who have helped us get this far.

Every time I feel like giving up someone comes along and makes a purchase or a donation and gives me hope of reaching our goal. Not to mention all of you who have left such nice comments urging me to keep going.

I spoke with Craig today and he told me he wasn't going to pull this till the need is met that he has come this far and won't turn back now. So I owe Craig a big thank you for his efforts and hope that all of you can find a friend as dedicated as he is.

Hello everybody,

First, I want to thank everyone who has helped out here again. Jim's family really appreciates the help, more than you know.

Secondly, there is only 398.12 left to go to completely pay Jim's daughter's medical bill for his granddaughter. She has no insurance, and they have exhausted other avenues to raise this money.

I really thought by now, that we would have reached our goal. Over 1600 views.

I don't know if changing the title of this thread would help or hurt. Anyone have any ideas on that?

If anyone who has helped out could spread the word somehow, we'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Anyway, if you've read this thread and passed on helping out, for whatever reasons you may have, please reconsider and show the old Warrior spirit and help them out here.

I know I haven't been here in some time but if you all remember it was Jim that helped me greatly when Barry died. Jim and I didn't really know each other very well at that time but I have to say that Barry made a good choice on who to ask to help me. And from my dealings with him since then, Jim has always been ready to help others. In fact even though it has been over a year, Jim continues to help me when I have questions or can't figure out something. I would have never gotten this far or this comfortable with Barry's business if it wasn't for Jim.

Of all the things in the world that are hard to deal with, the illness of a child has to be on the top of the list.

It doesn't matter whether the child is your own or your grandchild, the anguish that you feel is enormous.

Besides Jim being such a generously hearted human being, this is simply a fabulously excellent deal for the small price Jim is asking. And I can tell you from personal experience, that if you have an issue with some product you have bought from Jim, he will go out of his way to help with that too.

Well its the close of another day here for me I really thought that we might make our goal today so I could ask Craig to close this thread. As it stands tonight we are still short 368.41.

I just don't know what to say. I never thought this would run anywhere near this long or have as many views as we have had. There is no way I can be anything but grateful to all of you who have shown such kindness to me and my family.

As an update, we managed to raise all but about $350 for Jim's daughter to help her pay off her medical bill.

Seems like I've been doing this a lot, but I want to thank everyone again, who has helped Jim's family out here. Wonderful support from the Warriors. Thank you.

I talked to Jim, and he's okay with letting me keep the thread alive, but I'm just letting it go on it's own, with maybe an update, now and then, but not sure about that, unless somebody wants one.

We will find another way to raise that last $350, as it is still urgently needed.

I was talking with Jim on Skype last night and I could hear his grandaughter playing in the background.

It was wonderful to hear this happy little chatterbox touching him up for money for M & M's, it could have been so different.

These products are worth much more than Jim is selling them for, I've saved a heap of money with the vids alone, (I was going to have some done for myself), and the affiliate script is pretty cool as well

I don't know what made me to read all the posts here. I never knew Jim.
I never read Jim's posts. I have nothing to bind me to help you.
But, when I remember both of my daughter and son, I feel guilty.
I'm not rich enough to help people.

Plus, I just invested quite a much money and my bank account almost zero. (still waiting some check to get cashed).

Thanks too for the lesson in the thread. There were times at the start when it seemed that you felt this idea had no legs, but as the thread progresses it's a great demonstration of how things can go when you refuse to give up, and that reminder was useful. I want to chime in here before this is closed.

I and my family have nothing but praise for all those who helped us reach this goal. I thank Suzanne and everyone else for all the help and support. You have made it possible for us to sleep better at night now knowing this bill isn't hanging over my daughters head any longer.

Monday or Tuesday morning providing PayPal moves the final draft to my account by then, I will be writing a check to the hospital for payment in full.
