It's a very good word for your usage. It means "central point" such as a transport hub which would be a terminal or an airport being a flights hub.

Actually Hub is more like a point where several things join together. Spoke refers to things emanating from it. oThe hub on a wheel HAPPENS to be in the center, and the spokes are generally equidistant around. Airlines work on a "hub and spoke" concept, and delta has like 4 hubs! Detroit, Cincinatti, atlanta, and I believe another. WHY are they hubs? Because several flights join there. The flights are the spokes.

BTW MOST airports are rather SMALL and not used to generally facilitate long flights, so they aren't considered hubs. Delta is a VERY large airline, and has more hubs than most but, obviously, you can STILL count them on one hand. They go to hundreds of airports though.

As for the domain names, FORGET IT! If something makes you sound large, corporate, or does something else to some degree, some domain programs may use it to generate candidates. Some end up being pretty worthless and meaningless.

Hub is the centre point of something, like in a bike wheel, the metal component holding the spokes to the rim in place, tightly, truly is called the hub.
