Hello,
so very off topic but I'm trying to build a mini potatoe cannon. Good for stress relieve lol.

Problem is I'm having trouble getting the sparker to work. Disabled the lighter and but the sparks keep sparking outside the container and not inside because of the thumb tags.

I must have also spark myself at least 7 times...feel so much dumber. My iq must have dropped by 20 points..like seriously; can't even reply to a post or type properly lol

Anyways anyone of you have a potatoe cannon and how do you get it to work?

    Try something safer...

    2 1/2 inch Schedule 80 Pipe.

    Plenty of tennis balls.

Oh yeah....black powder and cannon fuse.

Best if you don't have any neighbors within....oh, lets say a mile or so!

Hmm thanks so much. You know safety is always my number one concern. At least now I won't have a chance of getting electrocuted...might be worth a try. My only concern is how do I launch it in an apartment? You think the neighbors would mind?

Haha it would be fun but doesn't work for a potatoe cannon if that's what you mean.

Yes, safety is clearly everyone's main concern on this thread. Hahaha.
My 8-year-old nephew has developed a Coke/Mentos idea he calls the "Fizz Gun." He has expanded the application to a "Fizz Cannon" and a "Fizz Bomb," and he's been asking me how he should present the design to the military.

Years ago one of my employees made a wheel-mounted potato gun welded together using stainless steel pipe. The barrel was 6' long.

He had a valve on it that released a set amount of acetylene and compressed air into the firing chamber and it had a spark plug igniter connected to a motorcycle battery.

That beast made a crack sound rather than the dull boom of your "standard" pvc gun, and the potato would vanish into the sky.

I wouldn't recommend anyone trying that.
