WOW! Now that song SAYS something! Even though the F* word is present, I'm still going to share it with my boys because it is an interesting perspective about being "colored". Thank you for sharing it Alex!

*I will agree though with Kay that the headline, although attn getting, holds the potential of illiciting even more negativity that seems to be surfacing in some of the other threads here in the OTF

  When I watched it I laughed because I could just see a Chris Rock type joke in it. Like "One thing I never understood is why white people called us colored back in the 60s. I mean, have you ever seen us get a sunburn and turn red like white folks? Or have their feet turn blue when it gets cold?" etc....
  
  Of course, this guy added a little anger to it and it was aimed at the racist symbol of the KKK hood. It's a defiant message saying the hell with you for labeling me, but at the same time poking fun at the labelers.
  
  Is he racist for saying this? I don't see it that way. That's why he used the KKK hood. To show he's talking just to the racist white fools.

I am sorry if I offended anyone, it wasn't the intention.
Patrician, if you do not know any racists in here - it doesn't mean there aren't any. I think I could name a few - but I am not gonna start pointing fingers. I find the song entertaining and unique, this is why I posted it.

I guess this forum's Off Topic section is REALLY different front other forums... Where people are more laid back.

Maybe I am the polyanna - Let me just use one of Buddah's sayings 'anytime you make a difference between one thing and another you have a problem'.

I think it is racist that we even have to say for instance 'black doctor'. When the doctor is white do we say 'white doctor'???

Having been around a lot of black people, I will say they do the same thing 'white boy' etc. and I am sure there are lots of hurt feelings and it is retaliatory to them. Not that this makes it alright either.

The whole issue is offensive to me for people to always mention this difference. Why can't we all just be people?

The video is not that bad - but as Kay pointed out the way the title is phrased makes it seem like you are calling people out - as in starting a fight.

I guess this place is just a powder keg lately with the elections and now religious topics - we just didn't need another one.

How about a nice nasty word game? NOT.
