Okay I will remove my tongue from my cheek a tiny bit and continue.
Newbies who find this place have usually spent allot of time and money elsewhere often being disappointed before they arrive here. They are awed by the opennesses and willingness to give and help so freely.
And for the first month or so while learning the forum etiquette and tone one only has certain things to judge value on. One of mine was titles; Advanced warriors they must be very .... well Advanced.
Wow then there are senior warriors they must be all powerful to have over a 1000 posts. (and of course very soon you see a Steven Wagenheim post, and you see his post count. At first I wondered if I must curtsy or bow or refer to him as 'your highness' )
Then after constant participation here you see that everyone is just human (I use the term loosely, I was going to say normal, but I don't like lying )
and you are less in awe of post counts and begin to look for value. After that the awe turns to respect, and finally a mutual respect starts to form.
But I have never really stopped looking at the words under the names. I was comfortable with my lot in life as a Hyperactive warrior. Now it is about to change. and I going to be Advanced. I am worried about the responsibility this brings especially in the eyes of Newbies.
Now there is always the option of changing it to something else, but I cannot do it those names feel like an achievement. Maybe after 1000 posts I will change it as I have then achieved all.
As I said I don't like lying, but I thought about it, and being an Advanced warrior is not a lie, I have Advanced, more than I thought possible. I once wondered for days why people were talking about the afternoon (PM) and asking to be PMed... So yes I have advanced.
Okay so what value could this thread possibly have, everyone started with their first post, first website first sale first refund etc.... Without a first their can be no second third ... So to newbies use the forum contribute, and learn and soon you will respect others and gain respect, and this forum can be invaluable beyond belief.
To other Advanced and Senior Warriors, no advice from me that would be rude just a big thank you.
