It seems that "Joe" the "plumber" was on welfare....

LOL. Old Joe the dummy was caught off guard there. On welfare but accusing Obama of socialism. "I paid into it". Typical.

If he needed some help when he was down on his luck I'm glad he was able to get it. A lot of men find themselves in huge financial distress after a divorce.

Too bad he needs to criticize others that need the same kind of help.

Even if he was, so what? Does that mean he doesn't have a right to free speech? Does it make it okay that his privacy was illegally violated because he dared to ask Obama a question that made Obama uncomfortable?

    what privacy was illegally violated?
Also, I didn't see Obama being uncomforatble,I saw him answering a question with an answer that "Joe" the plumber didn't expect.
    But to each his own.

What's that bill say? (in a nutshell). Sounds like information we all might want to know.

The part that applies to this discussion is that you can't run these kinds of searches on people to develop a news story. Especially financial records.
You need a legitimate purpose and an actual client with a legitimate need for the information.

BTW it's not easy to get welfare records. I don't know how to get them. It probably came out of his divorce records.

Thank you both for the information.
The governmenet will leak records that are illegal to leak any time they want. They are the only ones that have the power.
