So I've found a quote online which I'm happy with.. but I just want to know one thing.

If my policy starts October 1st 2010, is that the day they will first charge me?

I have an initial deposit of £110 to pay and I need to know if they charge that amount instantly, or when your policy starts?

I would contact the insurance company that you got the quote from. Only they know their billing policies.

Watterotter is right. HECK, we can only GUESS the country is great britain. In the US, we have the federal government that sets SOME rules! The STATE then sets others! Other bodies may set OTHERS! THEN the insurance company sets OTHERS!

California, for example, I believe is run STATE wide. They have an insurance commission(er). HE, or she, sets the STATES requirements. They include when the insurance is ACTIVE, to SOME degree, limits that can be placed on insurance, and maybe how/when it can be terminated for non payment, but NOT when payment starts.

SO, for life insurance, as I recall, you are covered the moment the paperwork is accepted by the AGENT, and restrictions may limit coverage the first 2 years.

BTW I am no longer an licensed to sell insurance, so don't please don't rely on the above being precise.
