College Football Playoffs

Ok, this might make for an interesting discussion. My husband mentioned to me earlier today that Obama was asked if he agreed with College Football playoffs instead of the "bowl based system" they have now.

And he said that he agreed with the playoff idea.

So how many of you think that there's going to be a grass-roots effort to move to a College Football playoff system rather than a bowl game system - simply because Obama said he liked one over the other?

      I think it's a great idea.

I have agreed with taking the top 8 and putting them into a tournament for quite sometime.

Really this would make it so that only 2 teams play 1 extra game and 2 teams plays 2 extra games.

All the arguments about missing school (which doesn't seem to come up with other divisions of football) can't really be used when talking about 4 teams playing 1 or 2 extra games.

I only know a handful who disagree with a playoff in real life versus most who favor it.

Well you know why - it's because all of the different bowl games make tons of money. I mean honestly, it really doesn't take much anymore to get into a bowl game but heaven forbid that the NCAA gives up that dough.

I know it's been a fight for years - I for one would love to see a playoff and then have it someplace warm. It's hard to get excited about going to the Motor City Bowl in Detroit when it's already 23 degrees where you are. :-)

Thankfully our team's been lucky enough to hit Florida and Texas on a few occasions.

They can keep the lucrative bowl games and have a playoff for the top teams at the same time.

    I agree with Obama...
I have been wanting to see the top 8 get into "bowl" games for a while now, maybe it is in the cards for the future now that our future president is on board!
