Hello, Warrior Forum Members. The title says it all, Im new here and hello. I have been interested in Internet Marketing for a few months now and I've finally decide to enter the game. I have been reading and plotting on the sidelines for long enough.

I basically made this thread to also apologize for the next few weeks. Please just put up with my stupid question for a while, and soon ill be talking the lingo and walking the walk. I'm a quick learner and very excited about what I will learn on this site.

So far I've bought a domain, sever space, set up a phpbb forum and decked it out with adsense ads. If you'd like to see it the address is localsmoco.com/talk. If you guys have any tips, tricks, warnings or ideas please let me know.

Thank you guys again.

Welcome and congratulations on your first steps in the internet marketing world! It's an exciting journey but, as Jeff says, you need to work consistently. Even if you don't have 8 hours a day to allow to your affiliate marketing efforts, just try to do a quick list of tasks and apply them everyday. Test things out, ask questions, you'll eventually make it if you treat it as a business.

    Wish you the best!

    Louise

Same here man.....but that is some of the best advice someone can give a brand new IM'er. If you dont focus on 1 thing at a time, you end spending more money on oodles of systems and projects you won't use and only confusing yourself.
Learn the legit ways of Online marketing, pick a method and stick with it until you are making enough dough to outsource that income stream........
Then move on to the next method and follow the process.

    Hi and welcome

There's a lot if information here to take in, so take your time, browse what's already been said and ask away if you still can't find the answer. We were all new once so there's absolutely nothing wrong with asking genuine questions.

    Hi,
sorry to disappoint, but so far you've done it wrong.

You see, if you do the process correctly, it looks like this:
    1. research
    2. more research
    3. getting a domain
    4. driving traffic & SEO
    5. building trust
    6. monetization

Go ahead and quickly remove your AdSense ads, because they will do more harm than good in this phase.

    Welcome!

You've gotten some great responses so far if you read between the lines. (too many to try to quote in this post)

Don't overlook the nuggets of gold posted so far - your position isn't clear, so I'll take a swing at it from a high level.

If you haven't done any market research and just put up your forum, you're likely in for a disappointment.

Your topic seems interesting, but that could very well be only the allure of Hawaii. Have you looked for keywords, etc that you can target?

I want to encourage you - BUT I don't want you to fall into the "If you build it, they will come" mindset - you've got to promote!

I don't think it's necessary to apologize in advance - folks here are pretty helpful most of the time.

You'll get further if you *think* about your problems before you post questions on them. For example, a post like "How do I make a million dollars in 30 minutes without doing anything?" will get responses, but probably not of the quality you are looking for.

Researching the latest techniques in underwater cigar smoking and posting a DETAILED question on how to promote it, offer a bonus for your report on it, etc. will go much further with positive responses.

    Welcome aboard.

    All success,

    Gary
