    Thirty years ago I was lucky enough to live like that. 10.5 mile cross-country
    ski to town. Could not afford snowmobile so all groceries, etc, came in on backpack.

    When my "rich" friends with snowmobiles stopped by they always expected me to furnish the beer (or Peppermint Schnappes!)---yea, right, pack it in on skiis!

    Probably the best winter I ever spent!
  • Its a superb, mind blowing picture with whitish area. You can only imagine such picture, and if there will be a chance to enjoy this beautiful place, I will definitely avail it.

    • I saw it on reddit.com. The headline was just 'winter cabin.' It didn't include any info about who took it, but the comments page for that post might have the information.

      It seems to be hosted on a free image hosting service. It had about 350 votes on reddit. I think that means it was loaded about 50,000 times in the last week or so. Probably a pretty good service.

      Nice to see you here. It's so neat that even if a flying saucer happened to drift through when the shutter was snapped it would just litter up the photo. I agree with the whitish area too

      I could probably survive a divorce, but I've heard people talk like that before. A woman at work went south for a month in the middle of the winter. She said that by the end of her time there she couldn't wait to get back to a place with real seasons.

  • I'm sitting here barefoot and my toes are frozen already. That cabin looks like there is a fire going inside with people sitting by it drinking warm drinks.
    I'm not a winter lover and thoroughly enjoy the easy outdoor months - but there is no denying the comfort of a secluded white night with a fire and a friend or two.

    I miss living in the country. I might be where the winters are mild this year - but next winter, you'll find me in a close simulation to that cabin.
