Making a billion dollars a year is easy.

Simply deposit $25 billion into a bank account earning 4% interest.

How do you earn $25 billion?

    That's the hard part.

Hmmm, this is an interesting mental exercise...

32 sales at $0.99 (iTunes music tracks?) would give $31.68.
16 sales at $1.99 (iPhone apps?) would give $31.84.
8 sales at $3.99 (iPad apps?) would give $31.92.
3 sales at $10.57 (iPad eBooks?) would give $31.71.

But you'd have to shift this much every second. (And I'm forgetting about sales commissions to the eStore and taxes)

When Stephen King sold one of his novels as an eBook for $2.50 to the people on his mailing list, he sold 400,000 in about a week. $1 mil in 7 days is nice work, but even Stephen King couldn't keep doing that for 52 weeks.

And even if he could, it wouldn't give make him a billion. To do that, he'd have to release 20 novels per week for 52 weeks.
