Warrior in Critical Care

I know this is in another post - but it's at the end so those of you who already quit reading, or didn't read the thread need to know this -
KimW has been admitted to critical care. As you may not know - he has kidney failure.

Now I'm going to bitch at you all........

Kim has a thread about a Kidney walk for funding for the Kidney foundation and research into alternative medicines to keep kidney transplants from being rejected -- he has a bad reaction to the one that they use and needs them to find an alternative...and fast.

His goal was $5000 dollars.........

Some of us donated money we don't really have to donate because, well........it's Kim. He's been with us for 6 years now. So far that goal has not been attained.

Kim is terminally ill people -- he had a goal, and I think that if we are calling ourselves Warriors maybe a few more of you could get off your duffs and donate to help him at least see this goal become reality........it may make a difference in the amount of hope he has, and hope can make the difference between life and beating the odds and death.

If you haven't donated yet .........please........a few dollars? The price of a cup of coffee? If enough of you will donate, Kim can see his goal become reality. It is all we can do, but it might make a difference.

  • Sal,

If you're in touch with him (as it sounds), please let him know that we're thinking of him and send him our best wishes.

    • He's got his laptop with him at the hospital, Tina........I don't have DIRECT contact and not sure who does....but he should be able to cruise this forum as long as he's conscious and I think he would be if he's hooked up to a dialysis machine. I don't know that much about how this all falls. I'm sending him a pm to make sure he has info to one of his kids in case he can't get back to us himself to keep us posted.
    • I don't know Kim but I just donated $20. I hope his goal is met fast.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Sal,
please let me know my family is thinking of him and have hopes for the best.
    --Jack
  • Folks - I'm not in direct contact. I'm just as in the dark as the rest of you - He's in bad shape and I just thought that we need to do whatever we can right now to give him some love and support. At the moment, a few bucks from everyone is the only thing we have to give, the only thing we can do to show him that he is a cared for member of the community.

And his thread is stuck in the OT ...so low community traffic.

I just tweeted a Warrior's alert to try to pull some more attention to what is going on. Right now he needs faith and we need to give it to him - and the only way to do that right now is to part with a couple of our almighty precious little dollars. Giving our own faith to pull through is one hell of a sight more noble than sending flowers later, ya think?
    • [2] replies
    • Sal -

Thanks for posting this - I didn't know Kim had been admitted to the hospital and thought it was odd I hadn't seen posts by him in the past few days.

Keeping my fingers crossed for him that this is a temporary problem.

Folks, we know the WF is a giving community with many caring members. Now is the time to show you care. Kim hasn't asked for much - only that you give even a small amount to the Kidney Walkers group.

Do it - it can be small amount but every donation shows we care.

    • My prayers go out to you Kim and your family. Get well soon!
  • Sal,
Thanks for letting us know....I'm in heavy-duty prayer mode for him. He NEVER mentions feeling bad or has anything but a great attitude. I hate to hear he's been admitted

I, too, hate his thread was stuck into OT and have regularly tweeted and put posts out to groups I am in elsewhere on line.
It IS hard to give for many of us that are out of work (myself included)and other limitations.......but it doesn't have to be much but you can bet I'll be back at his link for another 10.00 or so when I get my UI pymt this week.

I'm sitting on a bank account in the red - a home headed towards foreclosure-and a car with fumes (for today).........NONE of which are gonna kill me.

Kim is one of the best people I've met on here, so those of you that have managed to scrape up the $7-10 to buy that WSO you thought would make ya rich....do something really worthwhile with the cost of a stinkin' Starbucks ok??

And never forget the power of prayer!

    Andie
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • I, and I know another here, actually gave money partially to try to kind of seed the pot in the hopes that someone else would think to donate as much or more. I WOULD offer a matching program but, with my luck, someone would donate just to break me. Besides, I got some bad luck, health and my contract is almost up, a bit before I donated myself. 8-(

    Steve
  • Steve - nobody expects you to risk your own life - you've donated plenty more than many have already -- it's time for others to follow your generosity and pitch in -- right now it's more about the support than anything else.
    • [2] replies
    • Put Kim in your sigs - and let's get him over his goal!
      • [1] reply
    • OK, I wasn't saying I was risking my life, only that I have problems too. I WAS hoping someone else would donate MORE! 8-)

      Steve
      • [1] reply
  • Actually Steve - Kim let us know. I just thought it was too buried for people to see.............

And I don't think many of them realize exactly how much Kim is depending on this research or how genuinely sick he really is.
    • [1] reply
    • yeah, I used to wonder HOW dialysis could keep a person alive. I mean they go SO infrequently, and healthy people have things practically totally cleaned out an average of every 4 hours! Well, NOW I WORK at a dialysis place. People AREN'T expected to live forever. All it does is buy people time. HOPEFULLY they get a kidney eventually. But KIM said THAT only lasts 6-15 years! MOST last about 6 years.

As many of you know, I have an artificial aortic valve. I couldn't get a NATURAL TISSUE valve because I am too young. THEY are expected to last for 6 years. I was on a heart valve implant forum, and saw a person complaining that she had to have THREE operations! ALL failed in about 6 years because they were TISSUE valves. So I guess kims statement is probably right.

JUST THINK! If I had a tissue valve replacement, I would be likely getting ready for another surgery now! The same would be likely if kim had a transplant 6 years ago. Of course, tissue valves are manufactured out of raw tissue materials, and are usually from PIGS, so THEY are EASY to come by. Kidneys are FAR too complicated for that, so they have to get compatible kidneys from HUMAN donors.

      Steve
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Just did another Ping-o-matic for his donation page...

    kinda boring upstairs

    Andie
  • I new here and don't really know him but I will send out a prayer for him that God may be with him and guide him through this.

    God Bless!

Thanks Sal for letting us know what is happening to Kim.

I appreciate you. Please extend my heart-felt sympathy to Kim. My thoughts and prayers will always be with him.
  • Sal where do we donate, to the group or Kim?
    • [1] reply
    • I just edited the OP to give the direct donation link.

I would think you can donate via paypal - I haven't looked at the page, I donated to his group for the shirts via his blog page and that accepted paypal.
      • [1] reply
  • Ouch. Major ouch. I really want to help. Any way to donate via Paypal?
  • For those asking his donation page is at The Kidney Walkers
Click the "make a gift" (under the temp bar on right)

You can put in Kim's name and it does let you pay via Paypal...

    Thanks for stepping up Warriors!

    Andie
    • [1] reply
    • Maybe I'm being thick, but I'm just not seeing it. I see the Paypal donations button on the left, but when you follow the steps to donate under Kim's name, it only gives you Visa, Discover, AMEX, and Mastercard.
      • [2] replies
  • BTW I never did ask, do you know what Kimw was admitted for, if I can ask?
  • Steve / all...
Kim's post didn't say exactly what happened to send him in.

I DO know.....he was here rather late Sat night because we spent nearly an hour messaging.
Out of the blue I got a PM from him offering to give me a website he owned because he thought it could help me out with a place to market article writing.
He walked me through signing up at namecheap and pushing the site/files to me.

Being Kim, he asked for Nothing in return and was in his usual sweet spirit. He mentioned he was going to bed soon when we were done. By then it was probably going on Midnight in VA....

You are right about the 4 times a day, and Kim was getting his done at home. It would be a case of living around that schedule....

His team has passed the $1000 mark now --- good, but not good enough yet.
Keep putting the word out there!

    Andie

    • I know Kim said once that if the home dialysis isn't working just so - he is sometimes hospitalized when he goes for his regular checkups. However, this is unusual.

Not hearing from Kim worries me. He has his laptop but perhaps no connection? I hope that's the reason.

By the way - my pm'd request to you guys are fine per Thomas at the help desk.

    • Exactly why we need to be there for him, now Andie. Anyone who will help start someone out while they are feeling absolutely miserable themselves deserves to get good back for it from EVERY WARRIOR IN THIS FORUM -- it is acts like this that make the Warriors what they are and different from any other forum......community.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Just got a message from Kim.

He was admitted late Saturday night/early Sunday morning because he couldn't breath. He had liquid filling his lungs. He's losing blood somewhere and they are trying to find out where. They are getting ready to do a colonoscopy (sp?) and he expressed somewhat less than happiness at having to drink the liquid they give you for that one. He said that his wife will keep us informed on his progress if he can't.

Last night he had $111 to go to put his team in 3rd place........ 1st place would be a godsend for him -- that kind of hormone rush would have to help something inside straighten out a bit.

Lets do it people - it's time to move on it!
    • [ 3 ] Thanks
    • [2] replies
    • WOW, that is BAD! For the colonoscopy, they USUALLY have you drink phospho soda, and not eat for a day or so. That is NOT what you want to put a terminally ill patient through. On the BRIGHT side, it WILL lower his hydration so he is less likely to drown due to water in his lungs. To state it in a clear but non direct matter, the phospho soda basically prevents your large intestine from absorbing or retaining water, and it makes it easier to catch things with the colonoscopy. But YEAH, it's not fun. You CAN tell kim that, at least with ME, I found that if you just down it, it will be over within about 3.5 hours! Of course, that is BEFORE the actual colonoscopy, but they can put you to sleep for that.

      Steve
    • I'm fully aware of exactly what Kim is going through. I had a fairly lengthy discussion with him last month about his kidney condition in the off-topic section and I was at the hospital last year when a family member of mine had a similar condition although to a lesser degree. I recall they made him drink a very disgusting liquid to prepare for the colonoscopy as you said. Hoping Kim is back home soon and healthy again.

  • I'd like to remind everyone to please put an alert for Kim and a link to this thread in their sig files - and post EVERYWHERE. Get this on Twitter, blogs -- anywhere you can. The last bit of research that your money funds might be the bit that saves Kim's life.
  • Okay - I got a blog up and pinged. I'm back linking it here like a few traffic minded Warriors taught me to do, LOL.

  • GOAL ACCOMPLISHED AND EXCEEDED!

Hang on Kim - the Calvary is just arriving!

I Just checked the score and The Kidney Walkers have:
    $6,075.00

Heartfelt thanks to Allen Says for his contribution of $5,000 dollars. Allen - you may have a sharp sense of business and have built an incredible market for yourself and others here --- but it is this kind of generosity that has lifted you to the top. My hat is off to you. Thank you.

  • LMAO -- I was so excited to see Kim's team skyrocketed to first place that I didn't even NOTICE the headline.

    • Indeed, it should not be ''virtual'' all the time.... take the money and run stuff... hype and BS ... somebody is ''down''... maybe we could bring some relief ...I don't know this person but my small contribution is on it's way.
      Bonne chance..
      • [ 3 ] Thanks
    • I don't have a lot of money either but I'm kicking in $5.

My dad used to say if you had a million pennies you'd be rich and this works the same way. Every penny counts.

      Throw in a couple of bucks. There isn't a Warrior here who can't afford that, alternatively donate a kidney, I'm giving you the choice ;-}
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
    • omg! I'm so sorry to hear about Kim. I will do what I can to help because Kim's one of the nicest guys in this forum. I love his sense of humour and his taste in music is quite similar to mine. We've had some good times on various threads in the OT. Maybe if we all pitch in and keep focusing on positive thoughts for his good health, we'll witness his triumphant return to our WF sooner rather than later.

Sal, I'm going to pm you...
    • My kids uncle had to have a kidney transplant. My kids dad happened to be a good match. I know that is not always the case for some families. I am not in the best of health to give one otherwise I would give him one of mine.

I see some people do product giveaways to raise money for charities. Has anyone come up with any creative ways to help him?

I will donate some cash to help him.
    • Everyone that donates at all is awesome! Whether it is their time to let others known about Kim's condition, or with money. Allen Says, you are beyond awesome. Get Better Kim, we all care!
    • Sorry to hear that. I'll send out prayers and donate whatever I can.

May he get well and have a full recovery.
    • God bless.
    • I do not know him, so what? He too is a human being like me and he too has a family like me. He will be there in my prayers in that of my family members too. Good Karma always pays back in kind.

    • While I do not personally know KimW, I do know how painful and expensive kidney failure can be through family and very close friends.

I could be loosing my job shortly, we just lost my mother-in-law to kidney failure and had to borrow money to go to the Phillipines to see her before she passed away.

I'm definately tight on funds, however, when my retirement check arrives on the 1st of November, my donation will be there to help KimW.

One doesn't have to know the person who needs help. I haven't a clue who gets the money I donate to Breast Cancer every year, but, that doesn't stop me from donating for my favorite charity. (My wife is a SURVIVOR)... Hopefully KimW will be as well.

      KimW is in my prayers.

      Allen

P.S. I have added a link in my Sig.
      • [ 3 ] Thanks
    • Thanks I appreciate you.

So pinging his donation site; Tweet it; Digg it; all that other stuff....

    • Jack - the only thing I did was notice Kim's post buried in that other thread first. Someone else would have stuck up a post later if I hadn't seen it. It is the team here that is making the difference for Kim and his team, not me. Everyone who has donated, tweeted, blogged, bannered, pinged, etc - deserves an equal amount of thanks -- with special mention to the Leader of THIS team, ALLEN SAYS - because he's the one who shaped this forum to make it a place where this team could come together, develop, grow, and achieve -- and to get to know each other well enough to care.
      • [ 4 ] Thanks

  • It is going to the Kidney foundation which is using it for research -- some of that research being less dangerous drugs to keep transplants from being rejected -- Kim can't take prednisone, and he needs them to find the answer to that one REAL fast. There are a few others but they don't work as well. Also the Kidney foundation has helped him to receive the care he is getting.

Read the first post again and now you'll understand it better.

    • From what I've seen knowing KimW here for years - he has never asked for anything for himself.

In fact - though he updates us sometimes on his health, he never complains about it. He comes here and answers questions and banters around and most don't know how critical his health is.

  • Chris - I don't know of any other way to help him now. What we are doing is what he wanted. He had a goal that was unfathomably crucial to him. That research means his life. And these donations will mean more to him than I can ever, or he can ever, express. He is seeing a wish come true, and that is not a small deal. All we can hope for right now is that this money will provide the answers and help he needs to survive. Sometimes hope is all we have. Sometimes hope, and knowing others hope with us, and for us, is enough.

Kim will never forget this the entirety of his life. Count on that. The immediate gift here is caring about someone who has cared about us.

    • Sally,

Perhaps you could copy the image/link from my post (#68) like Chris did (#71) and put those at the bottom of your OP. That way there's a gateway to the donation site that no one can miss. (It should be easy , although it's up to you.)
  • KimW is definitely someone I appreciate. I've enjoyed my rapport with him on this forum. He's actually even made me feel important (when, in fact, I'm not). What's happening to him is only just sinking in for me.
  • Speaking of direct donations -- isn't this Kim's site here:

    Maj's Kidney

There's a PayPal donate button on the left side. If I'm not mistaken, any donated funds given there will go to him directly.

    Cheers,

Yes, that is his site and it looks like it does go directly to him! So, I'm thinking....his team for the walk has done well now (*thanks to Allen again) so perhaps the direct support is what needs to be pushed now.
Donations he and his family can use to help lessen the burden while he is suffering this setback.
Thanks for pointing that one out! ( i do believe I've worn out my thanks button for the day)

    • Good idea Becky, and also you can purchase his product in his signature.

  • Poor KimW he was very open & up straight about his kidney problem. Dialysis must be the pits. Even worse when you know your days are numbered in such an uncomfortable way.

If he wants to look at WF from critical care I doubt it - I wouldn't, but I salute the dudes resolve for battling his illness.

    Get better Kim!!!

    • Was not sure which was best but decided to use his web site donation link and made a small donation to him directly.

I do not know him but this community has helped me and if there is Karma I got to think you might get a few extra points for helping a stranger.

My prayers are with Kim and his family.

    • I like your style Caleb and I'll match it. Whoever donates $200 I'll also throw in an seo campaign and a guaranteed page one ranking for it. You will need to email me at matt@seotrafficservices.org for more details.

Come on folks. Who's going to match Caleb and I?
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Thank you everyone for your usual Warrior generosity and kindness -

This is going to blow Kim's mind - I hope he has logged in today to see it all.

The whole routine - the banner/alert by Allen, all the new donations/friends, and that he has more than met his goal, thanks to everyone and how generous Allen Says is! That did blow me away.

Get well Kim! - I am sorry I haven't been around more the past few days but you know why...

I am concerned about why you are in Critical Care and I hope someone will give us an update...

  • YEAH WOW! That is GENEROUS.

SEE GUYS, I told you it was a good idea I didn't offer to match.

I guess Kim will have to set a new goal. And I hope he ends up feeling better off for what he has to deal with now.

    • I read in the other thread that Kim's wife stated there has been some improvement to Kim's condition. I do believe prayers do get answered.

It's amazing time and again how members of this forum define what a community is and how everyone looks out for one another. So glad to be a part of it and can help in some way. Certainly inspires me to be more and do more for others knowing it is making a difference.

      God bless,

  • Please do something that could heal him directly, I know that this works and it works even on the distance!

I am talking about Quantum Healing or also called Quantum Entrainment.

I have read a book and also got to know someone who is already applying it with great success. It goes as follows:

You close your eyes and say inwardly or with minimal voice that the person you want to heal has (in this case) a working kidney and that he is far away from this disease.

After that you say nothing and think about nothing. Just wait for a few minutes and stay this way until you begin to feel something strange (could be anything, but mostly positive) and then you stop the process by opening your eyes again.

Please, lets do that all together because then the effect multiplies.

Regards and success to you all.

    • Thanks for this Caleb

My first thought when this ALERT went up was how do we donate money directly to Kim. I understand the need for a good cause, but right now I feel that Kim and his family need direct financial support.

I remember once Kim said the donate button on his site went directly to him.

You are in my thoughts and prayers

  • Keeping Kim in my thoughts and my prayers. Hope to hear great results of recovery soon. Keep us posted please.
  • Just donated through the Tshirt donation link.

I also added a post to my blog.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Kim.

  • Thanks Sal, I don't really know Kim but my prayers are with Kim. I've learned a ton from the Warriors and received many a freebie. It's time I give back.

  • The OP should add the paypal link:

    The Kidney Walkers

    Would help people.
    • [2] replies
    • Caleb, that's not a bad idea. That link, although set up for another purpose, does go directly to Kim's personal account as I understand it.

So any funds contributed through that link would go directly to help Kim and his family.
      • [1] reply
    • Thanks for the link, donation made.

Makes me proud to call myself a Warrior when I see this kind of outpouring.
  • Yeah,

If he's American, I hear Health Care can get expensive, and if his wife is staying at a hotel near the hospital, then he might need money for that. I'm just thinking of a way for us to help him directly.

    Caleb
    • [1] reply
    • YEAH, he is American, and you have NO idea! The stint in the hospital, on a cost basis, is *****NOTHING***** compared to the cost of dialysis. ONE dialysis treatment may cost enough to pay for maybe 20 days in the hospital, which would cost maybe 4 times as much as a hotel. And an operation, if it is like many I have heard of, like mine, would cost over 20 times what dialysis would. One thing that shocked ME is an ambulance can cost about $800 or more! I paid for TWO ambulances! One had a per mile charge of $75, and one was only $10, but the total bill on EACH was about $800.

That $5000 might not even be enough for one dialysis treatment. Still, there are a lot of things that can reduce it, get part forgiven, etc...

Also -- I want to thank Karen Blundell for putting in a pluggin on blogger for me so the blog I put in for Kim can be shared easily. I will go back and put this link on there too once I get it to work right in here

  • Im glad I made something noble today. I know it will not be enough but I hope it will somehow be of help. For Kim's immediate recovery.
  • I've always been proud to be associated with this forum but am especially so today.

Kim and his family are in my thoughts and I'm honored to help and, frankly, have the means to do so because of the free gifts that I get right here every day.
  • Here in Canada, it costs $50 for an Ambulance {and your insurance will cover that}, and $0 {paid in tax} for the health care at the hospital. My sister passed out in America, and it was like $700 for just a short ambulance ride.... And there were a dr's bill + hospital bill to go on with that, that were more.

    Caleb
    • [3] replies

    • My daughter takes 2-3 rides by paramedic to the local hospital every year. You guys are getting off cheap. Of course the insurance usually eats most of it but I am pretty sure we are billed about $3,500 per ride.

Two years ago the paramedics gave her three doses of versed instead of the normal one. Her respiration stopped and they had to life flight her from one hospital to another. If I remember right that was a $13,000 or $14,000 ride.

Kim, I do not know you personally, but best wishes and I hope you get better and go home soon.

Allen, very grateful to be a part of your forum and witness your generosity.

Everyone else that donated, or wanted to but couldn't, you guys are what makes this forum what it is.
    • For what it's worth Caleb, in the past 20 months I have been hospitalized 3 times for serious heart attacks. I have severe coronary artery disease and required air transport twice. JUST the helicopter rides was over $40k. The surgeries, and related hospital costs have been over $100k over that period and I have no income and no health insurance. I have one doctor who volunteered to write my life sustaining prescriptions. Other than that no medical care. When you can't pay, the care gets worse over time, and fewer professionals are there to help. (My cardiologist told me he couldn't see me anymore when I told him I lost my insurance)

I am here to tell you people...if you think someone else is going to help the people you care about, you are wrong! The only assistance available for people in the US is exclusively for non-productive members of society. All the decent hard working people need to fend for themselves. (This is NOT a political argument, btw, this is FACT based on my experiences). When I am gone in a few years my wife will be stuck with all of it.

I truly appreciate this thread for what it is, and the point of this post is very simple...don't wait for someone else to help. Step up now.

With love and support like this, you can probably prevent things like that from happening to Kim. Not to mention his spirits. You would be amazed how far a little caring goes in one's life!

I make no bones about it, I have nothing to give financially, but I have a very personal perspective on where he is right now in his life. I am 43 and not expected to make 45. It's a scary place to be. But in light of this thread, it is very heartwarming to see so much love and support for a person some of you truly care about (I don't know Kim at all) and are making great things happen. Hats off to all of you. He has an uphill battle, but it won't seem like one to him when so many of you are pulling from the top!

      John

PS I started this post off with costs so you could see what it is like here in the US. It's ridiculous! (Btw, if you're curious at all, the flights were less than 30 miles)
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • I was just lamenting our problems. BTW the average taxi ride only costs about $3/mile with NO base charge. But my uncle in Denmark needed an operation, etc... The care is free THERE also. It took them a LONG time to even see him, etc... So there ARE costs you don't see on the bottom line. But I was just lamenting, I didn't want to start a discussion.

      Steve
  • I just noticed Kim isn't the top walker -someone is ahead of him in donations -- there's a sidebar on the left of the Kidney foundation donation page that will let you donate via a particular walker - I'll hit that tomorrow, if anyone else can start hitting that one, lets make Kim the top walker....whether he is able or not when the day comes.
  • Kim, I never did get to know you that well. always enjoy reading your posts.

Doing what I can to help you get well soon so I can get to know you better.

Heard you're pretty cranky and you better be when you get back cause I'm looking forward to a few argue....uh...differences of opinion

    Get well and God Bless.

Kim....I don't know you well but always enjoy your posts. Stay strong! My thoughts are with you and your wife.

I'll head over to your link now and do what I can to help.

    Hurry back!
  • Hope KIM will be up and running quickly!

Just donated a small amount. In case anybody wondering, after going to The Kidney Walkers, you have to donate using the Paypal button on top Left so that the money reaches directly to kim.

use the button on the bottom of page (Under the Kidney Walker Circular banner) since that one will donate to the cause rather than to KIM directly.

  • sad to hear about this.
I'll forward this to our boss so we could also donate for Kim.
  • I am sorry to hear that a fellow Warrior is ill, and in the hospital. I wish that I had the money to donate, because I know that is what he and his family needs right now. I am just glad that I can be part of a great community like the Warriors, who are willing to help a fellow Warrior in need. I pray that his spirits will stay lifted up, and that he can keep a positive frame of mind. I know that those two things go further than anything else to help someone battle a serious illness.
  • I know what it is like to need help and how frustrating it is to try and raise money here or anywhere for that matter. Warriors helped us when we were in need and I am happy to help here and offer my prayers also.

I've not had a signature before but I believe now is the right time and place for one.

      Get well soon Kim.
  • My thoughts and prayers go out to you Kim and your family. I just went over and donated, it's not much, but I'm sure every little bit helps.
  • just made a small donation. We cannot afford much but we think he needs the money more than us. We may be facing financial difficulties now but at the very least we are able bodied and will be able to make it back soon. Kim needs all the support that he can get from us warriors now.

  • Thanks for posting this, Sal, don't know how I missed it.

So a big thank you to Allen as well for putting up the banner.

For those that don't know Kim, he is a class act, and one of the "good guys".

Last summer I was on the receiving end of a massive outpouring of Warrior generosity. I had a health condition, and I can tell you from experience, that each and every donation--no matter how small it may seem to you--had a positive impact on my spirit. Without question, the Warrior community helped me get better sooner, and I have no doubt that it is having the same effect on Kim.

Kim, we love you buddy and are all pulling for you.

    All the best,

KimW you are in my prayers... and someone is listening
  • OKAY _ EVERYONE -- LET'S GIVE KIM A POPULARITY BOOST.

WHEN YOU DONATE - MAKE SURE TO PUT A LITTLE BIT TO MAKING KIM THE TOP EARNING WALKER - JUST GO TO THE LEFT SIDEBAR ON HIS TEAM PAGE ON THE KIDNEY FOUNDATION SITE (FIRST LINK IN FIRST POST OF THREAD) AND WHERE IT SAYS "DONATE TO A WALKER" SEND SOME LOVE THAT WAY, TOO!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Oh wow I just figured out who KimW is. I'm a newbie to the forum and haven't really gotten to know that many people yet, but I had a really nice conversation with Kim about a week ago. It absolutely BREAKS MY HEART to hear about what he is going through.

I only wish I could donate something, unfortunately my current financial situation doesn't allow me to. But please please please tell him that I wish him the best! I am very heartbroken about this, he was so nice to me in a thread last week!
  • AFI,
If you'd like to help him and cannot put cash in, how about a bit of your time to promote his cause however you can? SPreading the word is a great help as well!

    Hopefully he'll be home soon!

Its not internet marketing related, its business related, subjects could be

    A) How do I find a good teamleader for my gruop ?
    B) What are the precorsitions to take, when you hire a director/manager ?
    C) How do I get more succesfull in my business or in my businesslife ?
    D) What should I do, to grow my company further ?

Thanks for supporting a good cuase.

    kind regards,

    • Hey Guys

Just found out about this and am really impressed with what is going on here.

I have been a part of this forum for a few years and only a couple of times has a thread come along where a fellow warrior needs help and support.

You know what is great, that even though the majority of us have never met one another this forum generates a unique feeling of underlying friendship.
That is really something and in this world where there is a lot of selfishness, its so good to know that so many here care.

Good on you all and my best wishes for Kim.

      Grahame

  • I am still encouraging people to give money to Kim and his family directly as he is in dire financial straits due to his condition - for some time now while we were all not looking yet.

  • Every time I look at Kim's stats & team standing, my jaw just drops! He is only 35 bucks from being TOP walker!!
Huge Kudos to all who have helped achieve this...Let's keep rocking it so he stays on top!

Kim, get back soon or you'll have over 300 new posts to read

  • Pat - right now Kim is getting donations and so is the foundation! The Warriors are coming through from all directions. And that is how it should be. We need to help his immediate needs..........but that foundation is keeping him and a lot of others alive, and he is depending on their support and research very heavily.

We need to support both. What I did is split it - donated to his paypal - and to him, the walker, at the foundation.

People - don't worry about the size of the donation. I've been flooded with pm's over the last twenty-four hours. People are giving a dollar when they are hard up themselves - others are giving more. ALL ARE THE SPIRIT that makes us unique and that tells a sick human that we appreciate him, and have faith that it will get better for him....

When we put the small donations with the large donations......... It is our voices raised in unison -- it is a scream to the heavens that can not go unanswered.

Donate as your heart leads you. There is no wrong way to donate.
    • [ 5 ] Thanks

He's closing in on that #1 Spot!
    • Good job - (give to both) - (obviously the walk is getting all the attention since that is the links posted in both threads)

I gave direct to him a year or so ago so I did the walk this time.

This is his own words in July: at Maj's Kidney

It always seems to be when things are the darkest that you see that ray of light come through.

Due to us including our power company in our bankruptcy they are now requiring us to give them a $600 deposit on top of paying out bill, which brings the payment due to almost $900 for this month.

Now think about it, if I could come up with $900 to pay the electric in the two weeks thay gave us to get it, don’t you think I could have been paying everything all along?

Considering I do dialysis at home 6 times a week, and that is considered basically being on life support, it will be interesting to see if they actually do cut off the power if I can’t get the $900 by the end of the month.

As it is though, things happen in mysterious ways. In the past 24 hours people brought several computers over for me to fix and I now have $120 towards that bill in hand, and even more important, I have hope again.

      End of September:

People are always asking if I still need help.
The long answer is pretty involved.
The short answer for the time being is yes.
There is a Donate link on the left hand side of the page. Anything one can spare is always appreciated as I continue my journey to being healthy and able to go back to work one day.

  • We are praying for his health, and May he recover soon ... Amen!
  • Ok, I just did a backlink booster for Sal and Kim's sites. A small thing but it will help when we all pitch in. Allen's donation and the community fervor made me really proud to be here. Keep rockin' Kim!

  • I donated directly to Kim and told him to use it for his personal expenses or put it toward The Kidney Walkers. My dad lived into his 80's on dialysis, and he only passed on because he got tired of it and refused any more treatment, so keep sending Kim your positive vibes, prayers and good thoughts, he's got a lot of life ahead of him.

I also retweeted Wags and Hey Sal's posts, and now one more thing...

Anyone who donates at least $10 can have a copy of 70 Website Success Tips if you want it. Donate at least $25 and I'll throw in a copy of Profit Chains, which shows 9 ways I chain profits together to increase sales.

If you donate and want to claim one or both of those products, send me a PM with your Paypal transaction ID and the amount you paid. Please be patient, I'm leaving I won't be back for several hours, but will send your downloads as soon as I can.
    • [ 6 ] Thanks
  • I'm new here so I never got to know Kim, but I donated what little I could. Hope all goes well for Kim! Keep Fighting on!

  • What's the latest on Kim, hope he's okay. Hey Kim, if you reading this, you gonna beat this,
  • Hey Kim, didn't see your Terminator post before my earlier post, WELCOME BACK
  • Okay everyone - Kim is out of immediate danger, but he still has a very long road -- an astronomically expensive one -- ahead of him, so don't stop giving. It seems to be doing wonderous things for ALL of us.

    • Sal,
Absolutely correct........events like this do not just 'stop' simply because they said Kim can go home. Frankly, the hospitals do ALL they can to get you out ASAP; they don't keep anyone around unless they have to.
It does not end just because you get to leave.

Folks -- The Richmond Walk still doesn't happen for another week+ and there is pretty Stiff competition for that #1 spot and will take continued effort to keep him there. Nobody deserves it more than this guy.

I sincerely hope Allen will keep a banner up for him until the walk date (Nov 11th I believe)........that one thing has made such an impact on here. Allen is a hero in my eyes.

Thanks for your help. Better late than never, but - I think Sal drank all the beer!
  • He has/will need donations for as long as possible, so nobody is too late

  • KimW - My prayers are with you and I also want to wish you the best.
  • i never knew the warrior forum could act as one big family by showing concern for one another in the spirit of humanity particularly in the case of this warrior with kidney problem ( Kimw). i was thinking it was all money affairs. keep it up. Godbless. May God guide and keep him.
  • Right now I am donating 25% of all income from my WSO to KIM. Thus far $75 has been donated in addition to my own private donation. I have extended the WSO by a few days as well in order to raise more money.

The WSO is in my signature link for those interested.

Proof of donation is provided in the form of a paypal receipt. Generally donations are made and the receipt emailed within 12 hours of purchase.

  • HeySal,

If it's not too late to donate, you mentioned to me in a different thread that I might consider donating some copies of my video product. If the offer still stands I can donate 10 sets of videos
    (3 per set) at $10 a set.

Please PM me and let me know if I can still help
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Thanks Kevin. It's never too late to donate. I believe Kim mentioned in a post somewhere that he could receive donations straight through December.
  • Great,

Just tell me what to do next...
If anyone is interested in my offer, I have a new interactive video product that has yet to
be released to the general public. I will donate 10 sets (3 videos per set) .

I will give anyone an entire set of 3 videos, if they donate $10 to KimW .
You won't be able to find these video products anywhere else!

If anyone is interested please pm and let me know

Also, let me know where else on the board I can post this offer ...

    Take care & God Bless!
  • One of my favorite Warriors!
  • Hi Warriors.

Although Kim is out of the Emergency ('Critical Care') his situation is still dire until he gets a kidney transplant.

He has been having financial difficulties since the onset of his illness - we all chipped in for the walkathon which is going on right NOW!

However they are accepting donations through December at the Kidney Foundation that is helping Kim to stay alive.

As well, there are Warrior products you can get for a donation either to the Kidney Foundation or directly to Kim to help him get through this rough patch.

Don't forget - it could be you this is happening to 'There but by the Grace of God go I'.

... and it could be you that is a blessing by sharing - even just a couple bucks will help.

Look inside your heart - I bet you find something to give there.
  • Hi, I got here from Sal's post in my thread. Once we figure out a proper business model I guarantee we will be regularly donating to his cause.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

I know this is in another post - but it's at the end so those of you who already quit reading, or didn't read the thread need to know this - KimW has been admitted to critical care. As you may not know - he has kidney failure.
