I just sent this to paypal -- if anyone wants to follow this one up -- maybe we can see what this organization is really made of. AND - if anyone has access to Kim's actual paypal address - please send them an update to this one.

Dear Agent -

I would like to alert you that a paypal user is going to be having funds coming in - these are donations and it is vitally important that his account not be frozen no matter what the amount of activity you see on the account. He has life threatening kidney failure and the private donations are going both to the Kidney foundation and to him personally via paypal to help with the personal financial disaster his illness is causing him.

The Name on the account is Winfrey, Kim Winfrey. If you need his direct paypal address, We can and will provide that to you.

We, from the Warrior forum, would also like you to send this message on to your Public Relations office with a challenge to meet or beat our donations. If a forum of Internet marketers can come together in just cause for one of our members, and I'm sure an organization this size can rise to the occasion and meet or beat our efforts.

You can find out more, and check the validity of this note at:
http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...ical-care.html

And you can post your donation at:
National Kidney Foundation - 2010 Kidney Walk:
Or to contribute to the NKF through his specific walker donation
slot at:
National Kidney Foundation - 2010 Kidney Walk:

We thank you in advance and are awaiting your rise to this challenge.

Sincerely
Sally Taylor

This one is KJ's idea. I just remembered it after a few busy days and figured - well, as long as we're sending warning and a plea not to freeze the account - might as well put a challenge to em.

    HeySal,

If I ever found myself in trouble, I'd sure like to have someone like you on my side. You have demonstrated a generosity of spirit that is uncommonly selfless - a lesson for us all.

I just wanted to thank you for being you, and I hope this doesn't embarrass you too much.

    Best to you, Dennis

I don't embarrass easily - but when you confuse me I do sit in a corner and drool.

I didn't DO anything. I saw Kim's post and it was buried, so I posted it where people could see it...........and then all of the sudden there were Warriors all over it. I joined the action, but if everyone hadn't swarmed in on that post with help, ideas, money - - Kim would still be sitting and wondering what it would feel like to be in first place.

Dudes - normalize on me. That halo might slip to fit around my waist but it's not going to stay up to shine any light on my face.

MY thanks go to - well - go look at that list of 100 some thanks under that first post -- and then you'll see who we can call freaking special. And BIG WET OLD LADY LIP SMOOCHES to Allen.

I've worked behind the scenes burning up PM's to help Kim but I will not be emailing paypal - and I don't think anyone else should, either.

Before I get shouted down and pelted with poop - here's my concern:

1-Kim's donate button has not been a problem in the past or this week.

2-As I recall, Kim set up his Kidney Walkers paypal buttons in accordance with the regulations for charitable sites (could use kidney foundation).

3-Paypal seems to have no problem with a donate button - but has had problems with solicitation of donations for a cause.

4-It's likely that paypal employees help each other when needed just like members here - and I would not challenge them to "donate".

5-I'm nervous about contacting paypal regarding someone else's account. We don't want paypal to view KimW's blog as a "charity" that is soliciting contributions outside the donate button on the site. A bunch of emails from one forum that seem to be for the purpose of raising money are more like to raise red flags - that's my worry.

I don't see Sal's email as a problem - my concern is a flood of duplicate or similar emails could cause problems for Kim's account at paypal. That's the last thing any of us would want to happen.

Ok - you can throw the poop at me now...I'm ready to duck:p

I hope it is not a mistake to call Paypal's attention to Kim's account.

I have never had a problem with them, and don't have a lot of data but have heard some nightmare scenarios - mostly related to blocking accounts for being 'multi-level marketing' - big crime but I guess it is because they get too many refund claims (from what I heard).

I hope I am wrong, but doubt they will respond to a request for charity since they probably see it all as spam after a while. We are just numbers to them, not people.

As long as there are no problems created as a result of the email, it is certainly worth a try I guess - (but strongly agree we should not 'swarm' them and wave a red flag AT ALL).

Honestly EVERYONES charity has thrown me for a loop. As far as Paypal,I can see both ways. I have had a donate button up for a long time without any repercussions, but just cause its been ok in the past doesn't mean anything.

By the way, once again I want to THANK everyone for EVERYTHING they have done. I have used my alootment of "Thanks" but when I get more they shall get passed out.

Kim, I'm, laughing my butt off right now. Guess I have what Kay has lol.

I looked for the post you made awhile back about your offer to put something on the back of your T-Shirts. Glad you changed your thoughts on that one - them there shirts would have to be so long, you wouldn't be able to walk!!! :p

I know you were just released from the hospital. Are you going to be able to participate in the walk? Cause if you can't, I'll make the trip down and push ya in a wheelchair.

Waterotter, the walk is mostly symbolic I think, from what I understand its only 1.3 miles long. Give me 8 hours or so and I'm sure I will finish it.
But you are right, I have to take back the offer to list everyone on the back of my shirts now because it would be impossible.

I have to agree HeySal has really pushed for me,and I am very grateful,bt honestly so many of you have that it is impossible for me to name and thank you all.

Andie, as far as winning all the prizes, the walk coordinator just sent out an email that has this in it:
    "
AWESOME FUNDRAISING! We have our first 2010 Richmond Kidney Walk Team to raise over $5,000, therefore qualifying them to be on a Lamar Billboard for 30 days! Congratulations for The Kidney Walkers team who have raised $7,172.00! Check out their Team Page here!"

Pretty awesome, huh? And except for a few hundred dollars, that's all Warriors.Of course an extra large Thank you goes to Mr Allen Says himself.

Anyway, this has gone way beyond anything I had hoped to do and its all thanks to you folks.

Well, let me just give a special Warrior shout out to Steve (seasoned) for kicking off the drive with an over the top contribution of $250. That kind of unbridled generousity shows what kind of man Steve is. So kudos to Steve.

Can't wait to see pictures of that billboard. I hope they are not going to use stock photography on that thing, I want to see the real Kidney Walkers up there. (Well, not actually up there but in the picture...)

Don't you worry about that, Kim. A "group" thanks is enough. I think I speak for a good many Warriors in saying that we didn't do anything we didn't want to do, and we didn't do it for thanks or recognition. We did it to help. I happen to believe that's one of the reasons we're here on this planet, to help others when they need it and we're able.

Paypal better NOT tell me I can't donate straight to him if I want to --He did not solicit personal donations - he asked for Kidney foundation donations -- and for t-shirts -- never once did he solicit a dime for himself. And the kidney foundation didn't even take pay-pal - you think a corp is going to risk the PR damage over this issue? The rest was our own volition - and we have the thread to prove it, and the right to send money to whom we wish -- as long as they aren't known terrorists and other technicalities of that nature. Somehow, I don't think anyone could find Kim all that frightening or worry that he'll be using the money to run for office or anything. LOL.

And they probably won't donate.........but the competition that put the giant block of ice that said "PAYPAL FREEZES ACCOUNTS" in the lobby at paypal's convention yesterday might if paypal pulls crap on his account I'm thinking they might just enjoy donating any amount that paypal seized simply for the publicity - and if it ever came to that I would get the press involved.

Kim, if they give you any problems you tell me and I'll have their competition and the news on this thicker than flies on ....well you know.

And yes -- I did know about the block of ice before I contacted Paypal. Figured they might want some decent publicity after that.

Humble? ME? LMAO -- I'm not even starting to be humble. In fact I can be one of the most insufferably arrogant humans on the planet.
I'm honest though. I can't take credit where credit isn't due. My name was on the OP. Big squat.

This list is NOT in any order. It is, I believe also incomplete and my sincerest apologies to ANYONE deserving who has been left out. There were so darned many that I have to go back through the thread to try to find them all again.

First Mention is Allen Says - because, not only of the donation, which was generous, but for the BANNER - because that is where the visibility came from - and the unifying factor in this effort.
Kay King -- credit for the signatures.
Seasoned - sizable donation to get the ball rolling.
KJ - logo, donation et al
Karen Blundell - put the share tool in my blog.
John Durham - soliciting his own forum
Wags - blogs, tweets, product donations
Mattaclear - petitioning his sizable list - Service donation
      Friend -- donating WSO
      Caleb Spilchen - service donation
      NathanTK - soliciting list
      Waterotter - exeptional promotional contacts
      Andy - endless promotional efforts
      Mukul Verma -- product donation
Mike_Lucas - solicitation of his gaming community
      Dean Jackson - WSO donation
      MikeAmbrosio - Product donation
      LasseKohau - service donation
      Dennis Gaskill - product donation
      Jesus Perez - product donation

OTHERS - everyone that donated or spread the word - there are too many of those, and too many unknowns to even start to make a list here.
Now take a look at the 101 thank you's under that OP - those thanks were only "mine" indirectly -- they are actually tributes from people who were concerned about Kim. You've never seen ME with 101 for spitting wisdom in this forum - will never happen.

At any rate, the real thanks, I think, goes to Warrior KimW - because it is HIM being the type of guy who makes a community stand up in such events, that we were able to remember who we are and what this forum has always been about.

That's a hell of a lot of thanks for being the first one to see your post and unbury it. Okay - I won the race for being in the right place at the right time. Kewl. If that makes everyone happy, fine.

I have to ask you something, Kim.

Ya know, every now and again things just happen. I was always taught that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Right now we have every faction in the world at everyone else's throats. That is something that EVERYONE can agree upon.

Just a few weeks ago, the whole world came together to watch the result of a multi-national quest to recover 33 men from a mine.
Nobody was worried about what nationality, religion, sexual preference, or any other specific about those men. The WHOLE world hoped and prayed in their own fashion, and celebrated the recovery of those men.

Now and again the WF gets polluted with spammers and scammers, people who neither understand, nor care, about the unity between the people here.

Suddenly, you get unexplainably ill. And suddenly we have unity again. We have pride in the Warrior name again. Every warrior, whether they knew you or not was pulling for you in unity. And we created masses of positive energy, not just for you, but for the whole community and any non-member viewers reading your plight. And your cause - a just one - received needed funds, and people gave and felt that they did something that gave their lives more meaning. And people hoped - at a time there is little of that to spare.

And just as suddenly as you became ill, it all just disappeared with no rhyme or reason for its beginning, no explanation for its existence, and no known reason for its departure.

Do ya think........maybe........that there was a reason you got hit like you did and once its purpose had been achieved it just went off elsewhere to bring other groups together?

I think the universe is trying to tell us, and is giving a LOT of very strong indications, that we need to start looking beyond a person's color, nationality, religion, sex, age, sexual preferences - and every other thing that pulls us apart and start worrying about what is in our hearts. I think if we are going to survive we better take heed of these little coincidences and start to honor the quantum knowledge that it is true we are all one. When we do for someone else, we are, in fact, doing for ourselves as well - and for all mankind, because positive energy is strong and the more we put out, the more dominated by positive energy this whole planet becomes.

      uh......just sayin'

You did a lot more than unbury a post, you're probably not even aware of it all. I could elaborate, but I'm guessing you'd prefer I didn't. Sorry Sal, I didn't mean to bring unwanted attention to you, like I said before, I just wanted to thank you for being you. Stop fighting it, maybe the universe is trying to tell you something too. Sal,

Sometimes, being in the right place at the right time makes all the difference in the world -
You provided a strong, articulate voice for Kim and a lot of us quieter ones in the forum.

As for the unity and the end of it being center stage....it can be baffling the quickness that many can come and then go.
I see news stories where people walk by dying people on sidewalks, speed up to get past ugly events and then
.....on the other side, there are places like this one.
Strangers coming together and pitching in to help someone they have never even chatted with, and make a strong force.

I believe it is a moving 'force' and where it went to next - we don't know. But, I have to believe it has moved into exponential directions. It touched people in different ways......it made new friends for Kim he didn't have before...and it's going to grow from those touchpoints.
It's like those commercials you see where people are passing on the small thoughtful gestures to another....not even realizing what they do for others.
