Job satisfaction is more important than salary Because whenever you are happy with your job You will be in progress always and automatically your salary will be increased. So give more importance to your job satisfaction than salary.

Well... In the past I've had many jobs, that I've been very happy with. Unfortunately, the salary has never automatically increased on those jobs!!! (In healthcare industry...)

I think those both things are equally important: it's important to get a decent salary (well, huge, to be honest!) - but it's also important to find the job interesting, inspiring and comfortable for me.

job satisfaction is most important, because if your job is not giving satisfaction then the salary you earn is priceless.

Job satisfaction is key for me. However my family comes 1st. I have worked and continue to work on things that are not my 1st love simply to be able meet the needs of my family. Mean while I am working hard on what I love so that I can live off of what I love to do most!
    I'm really loving IM!

That's a hard question, I'd love to love my job, but if I make good money doing something I don't like, but can stand.... then I'm going to hate my job for the rest of my life.... I've learned life isn't easy and we're not going to love everything

Being in a job that gives satisfaction is very important. When one is satisfied doing what they do, naturally their performance matches that. Sometimes the salary will come as a reward and sometimes it does not. It depends of course on the company policy toward raises or advancement. Salary is usually based upon ones experience and/or techinical abilities. I found through out my career that if you did not get he $$$$ upfront when hired, it was hard to get the money up with annual raises. Of course when you are building your career, you can't go in expecting to get the higher salary and not start at the bottom.

I love being paid well for my experience, but that does not mean that one is always satisfied completely.

I agree with many of you on Job Satisfactory that it is very important. Even if you had the most prestiges job in the world and paid well too, you'll still be miserable. I guess the question can also be Are you willing to unhappily work to be happily paid?

I have job satisfaction now that I have my own home based business but for many years I had an excellent income in an awful day job, and not an ounce of job satisfaction. I hated every day of it - but stayed for 10 years until I was able to make a change without altering my lifestyle too drastically. If I could rewind 10 years, I'd make a different decision - I'd simplify my lifestyle to accommodate what I wanted to do. Staying put cost me 10 years of life satisfaction, never mind job satisfaction!

Neither. When your work for yourself it's not a job, it's a journey. And your salary depends only on you.

This is a really good question. I guess it all depends on your point of view. Im a single male so I can say without a doubt that job satisfaction is way more important. Now if I had a family to worry about Id have to say salary, but I do ultimately believe that job satisfaction will yeild a higher salary, even if that salary is sanity

Job satisfaction is so much more important to me than salary it's not even a close race!

Of course it's necessary that the salary is sufficient to live a decent life. A safe place to live, decent food and clothing, a dependable vehicle, a minimum of one week and two weekends per year for vacationing and enough money to do something fun once per week (dinner out, movie, etc.)

Less than that level of salary I would work a job that I didn't love but still probably not one I hated. I like being happy!

I would, however, never work a job I hated to get a bigger house than is necessary for survival or to buy a boat or to own a $50,000 car. Luxuries are fine but not fine enough to be miserable all day, five days a week.
