Can't seem to find this info in search and hoping that someone here can help me out with this.

I have noticed the hard way that there are a number of features and forums that are restricted according to the number of posts that a member of the forum has made. For example, I can't PM until I have made 50 posts. (Which, by the way, I think is a bit high.) Is there a list somewhere of what all the restrictions and post requirements are?
It would be very helpful!

Thanks!

Nope, not ridiculous. Just the way things are done here. Don't want the spammers to get in see?

Will take a look and see what I can find, unless someone beats me to it...

Read the stickies at the top of the forums - there are also some videos for new folks here that explain things. Welcome and if come here with the open mind of learning and then helping others, you'll do well.

I believe that if you join the War Room (which costs $37 for a 20-year subscription), you can send them immediately. You may find things of enormous value there, and it might even change your perspective a little on joining a new forum and immediately announcing, after only a handful of posts, that you think one of its carefully thought-out, tried and tested policies is "ridiculous".

Why does the post counter not work? It says that I have 10, when I actually have 31ish...weird.

Deric, posts in the "Off Topic" Forum do not count toward your total posts. These posts have no value in regards to your post count.

Don't worry - you learn as you go here.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Most spammers are too lazy to make 20 posts. Problem solved

Thanks. for the quick clarifications I am now plowing through the stickies. Should have done that in the beginning! :-)

I totally agree that a minimum post amount is a needed requirement to reduce the number of spammers, just thought that 50 post minimum was a bit high. Frustrated by not being able to PM someone I needed to get in touch with, you see. But ah well, patience shall be rewarding in the end.

LOL I thought it was taking me an awfully long time to reach 50 posts ... but my favorite part of the forum is the off topic section. LOL
