Free War Room Sponsorship for telling me...

In celebration of my upcoming 1000th post here on the Warrior Forum, I am going to sponsor a beginner by awarding somebody a paid membership into the War Room, the Warrior Forum's private discussion group. I will also give them free lifetime access to one of my products.

To be eligible for this sponsorship award, you need to post in this thread what you think your biggest hold up is to making the big bucks. Why haven't you achieved what you set out to accomplish yet? What is holding you back? Is it a lack of knowledge? Lack of direction? What is it?

I will leave this thread open until Friday. On Friday night, I will choose the winning post based on what I feel is the most sincere attempt to explain what is missing from that person's strategy.

Post away!

My biggest problem is I do not know where or what exactly are my problems, because if I knew where were my biggest problems I would be able to dive right into them and try to rectify them one by one.

Although I do not know what is my 'biggest' problem, I do have a few problems I know (in ranking from biggest to worst)
    1) MINDSET and THINKING - I realize that this is the most difficult thing to change and adapt to for someone starting out on internet marketing. This is because the education system has conditioned us to think like employees and trade time for money. But if you want to start make money on IM, you HAVE to think like a marketer and you have to SELL, and thus you also have to believe in your products that you are marketing if not you would feel guilty about it. Although I know this, I am still having difficulties to see and think myself like a marketer.

    2) Not knowing where to spend money on - I feel that it is ok to lose some money at the start to accelerate the process but sometimes I do not know where to spend my money and waste it on unnecessary stuff like courses and ebooks. I think it is ok to spend some money on products like SENuke, UAW, article spinning tools, autoresponders at the start but sometimes the price tag is too much for a beginner as it is a monthly cost. But then I would still be scared to spend so much money right at the start

    3) Lack of vision and commitment - Well let's face it and I admit it, even I do not make it in IM I know that I still have backup plans outside of IM to be able to earn a living and survive.. just that I won't be living as good a life. Unlike some people who have already burnt all their bridges behind them and their only hope is to survive...

Come to think of it, now that I have typed out all the above I realize that all of them actually still boils down to changing my mindset and thinking.... come on, all the skills and information I need to know about SEO, PPC, affiliate marketing ,etc(anything related to IM) can easily be found just with Google or forums like this.

Oh well, that's my 2 cents worth good luck to all taking part in this!

I already have the War Room purchased, but I would like to see what kind of product you are offering. Maybe it could provide me with the help I need to START making some kind of income, even if it's just $5 a day .

Quite simply for me, it is down to motivation. Ranking for keywords takes, well, a while and it can sometimes feel a bit like a never ending marathon. I have done pretty well out of online to be fair (thus far) and I have a really good feeling that things are going to end up like I hope they will.

Another problem I have personally is that I have an internet resenting missus who goes on and on and on and ..... about me being online. She has no ambition and I think she holds it against me that I do which kinda sucks. She won't be complaining when I'm a millionaire though will she?!!

In the mean time I need to outsource someone to come over here and kick me up the arse once in a while. The $$$ are there to be made, that much I know for sure.

My issue is a lack of time. I'm working at a job 50 hours a week and when I get home I have a wife and two kids and farm animals and a house to take care of.

I do almost all of my writing on my lunch breaks and am slowly building something. Unfortunately my ideas for new projects far outweigh the time I have to complete them. I'd outsource some things if my online business was at a point to be able to support that but unfortunately it's not yet.

Brian, first of all, thanks for doing it. "What goes around, comes around".

For me the biggest holdup right now is - I am trying to start something that is new in isolation. I am totally new at IM and still at the stage of trying to decide which way to proceed. I am not sure yet who I can trust, whose advise I should take, and what I should avoid at all costs. Yes, I strongly believe it is possible to do everything yourself, figure it out by learning from your own mistakes, and finally get the results you want, but it's almost like reinventing the wheel... I am really glad I recently found this forum and I have already learned a lot from it, but what I think I need the most is a guidance of somebody with real experience, a real person who is willing to help and wants you to succeed, a mentor.

From one Brian to another, hello!!

I can be as creative as I like in telling you why I have not reached the big time. Or could I? Wouldn't it just be another list of excuses? 97% of us fail to make it online.....so what is it about the 3% who succeed? Why do 97% of folks fail? Why am I personally shooting to join the 3% who succeed? I think that is the real question here. Right up there with, why should you choose me over anyone else that posts here?

      My challenge is not time.
My challenge is not a lack of knowledge (there's plenty out there)
My challenge is not networking with people
My challenge is not getting my website exposure
My challenge is not finding a way to make a few bucks online

      My challenge is this:

Turning my knowledge and experience into the big bucks.

I have spent a year digging in deeper and soaking in knowledge. I have read various views, listened to different "gurus". Yes, I have a year of experience - but I am still a newbie in that my list is almost non-existent. I have not been able to turn the corner and make something positive to show for my efforts and silence the critics in my life.

Being in the War Room would grant exposure and enable me to network with the minds that can recognize my knowledge and experience, and show me the tweaks I need to make to go from a joke to the laughs on you.

Winner or not.....I feel like a winner if someone reads this post and can relate. This is my new direction, relationship marketing. If you can relate, reach out and say hi.

Hello E. Brian Rose, I will take you up on this!

First let me share a little story with you...

In late 2006 I set out on a five year plan with my wife after reading the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. This plan was to move us away from the life of the Paycheck to Paycheck Rat Race into the realm of the Passive Income Fast Track. The use of first three of those five years was to educate ourselves about ourselves and business and investing in general, as we had no clue about what to do - only from books, seminars and what other people around us were telling us to do.

It has been almost four years since I first quit my job and built my first website. I have found that my "circle" is not nurturing my endeavours. This happens quite frequently to many of us, and I have had to take this situation "by the horns" and will be free of it by next spring.

After spending more than $100,000.00 on my street savvy education, I have learned many things, mostly about myself, and I would pay that amount 10 times over if I had to do it again. I learn my limits, what I will do, what I won't do. I have made $100,000.00 in my businesses time and again, yet not able to turn it into recurring income. Each year, I have had to start all over again from scratch.

I spent the beginning of this year learning about the internet, and how it can equate to passive income. I quit my six figure job three years ago, so I could see my children, and spend time with them on their birthdays, help with homework, be there for the first day of school etc. I am looking at the internet as a way to facilitate my dream lifestyle with my family and also as a way to build wealth and a future for my kids.

What is holding me up from making the big bucks? Why haven't I set out what I achieved?

Me. But I'm on my way.

Yes, I have no time, yes, I have no money, and yes I have slipped up in following my code, yes......yes, yes, yes.

In the end it's me and my focus that has been holding me back, BUT, I have learned that with the right guidance and the right focus it's all possible.

This is a wonderful offer E. Brian Rose. Thank you.

As a Newbie the main problem I have faced, and I think it is true with every newbie out there, is the Lack of Creativity. Creativity lies in every successful person, be it in IM or real life business. And, creativity does not come spontaneously to everybody. For most people to being creative comes with experience, knowing what is good and what is bad. Since most of the newbies lack in experience there are very few people who make it big, from those who had started out at the same time.
Apart from that there are usual stuffs like lack of guidance and funds.
One more thing I would also like to point out is that most newbies, like me, join IM thinking it to be a "get rich scheme" and almost always expect someone else to spoon feed them the magic formula to success. Although I have come to know by now, by just reading the general forum here, that there is no such formula for success. As all great people like Gates, Larry Page and Zuckerburg have shown, all it needs is a little bit of guidance and that illusive thing called Creativity, thinking what others don't.
I sign off hoping to get the guidance, if not the creativity, from being the new sponsored member of the War Room.
    Thank You.

I have moderate success, good money inflow(who wouldn't want more), though, I know I don't know everything, I would sure love to take advantage of this. Yet, I know there are newbies that need help a lot more, and I wouldn't want to take an opportunity away from them

There is a old saying, there is them that talk about it and there's them that just do it.

I think I must come down to them that talk a good talk but never get round to doing the walk. I also believe I could be scared of making mistakes which also stops me.

All the best to the winning member.

Most of the time I feel stuck. I know a lot about starting things up but never finishing. I get stuck at certain points and lose focus. I tend to wander off into different areas of devolping my businnes but cant stick to the main priority.

For me it tends to be lack of direction because after 3 years I should have have some knowledge.

I am looking into building a list right know for the mens health niche but am stuck at finding traffic so as of know I continue to take as much information in as I can until I finally get it..until then

    congrats on 1000th post

Congratulations on a 1000 posts that is some going.

Ok here is my reason for being held back.

I don't want anyone to take pity on me has i'm in a good place right now. When i was younger i was bullied for being too short, i never really could identify with anyone and was always on my own in the playground. I used to do everything myself as people would always make fun of me or my appearance, my family couldn't really afford much and my clothes were a little worse for ware but i got by just. Many times you think to yourself is it really worth it but something maybe it's family but they drag you through it.

This was pretty much my upbringing until at the age of 17 i was travelling back from an event in the city and on the train was the most beautiful girl that i had ever seen.

Her name was Catherine and we chatted about loads of pointless stuff and she too got bullied as a child for something very small like having curly hair. We swapped numbers and 14 years on we are still very much happy together and have 2 wonderful chuldren to whom have made our lives.

Having these wonderful creatures has made me come out of a shell which i was in for a very long time and now i spend all my time with them and i'm trying my very best to make sure they don't go through what i did.

Life is good but having very little time to do anything but now they are growing up i have now found the time to get on the computer and try and make some extra cash for them so i can buy them everything 2 little boys would love.

I know i'll find a way to do this as nothing has every stopped me before and i am very lucky in comparison to some others and feel myself blessed to have a wonderful family.

If you are going through a hard time then don't worry as there is always someone to help you (like Brian the thread starter) and they'll always help you through.

    Keep up the good work

    1. traffic
    2. me being short on time (busy with other things - school, work, and so forth)
    3. me not working efficiently enough
    4. my vision not being firmly concrete in my mind

I know that this post is a day late, and that I also submitted one already, I would like to touch on the fact that everyone here (myself included) talked about “POOR OL'ME”.

As a business owner myself, and coming back here to look this thread over, if I were to hire based on resumes that looked like these... I would pass on each one. My own included.

    WHY?

Because after years of reading things like this, they all basically read the same: it’s all about poor old me, me, me , me.

Brian, I understand that you were asking the question ‘what was holding each one of us back’, we probably immediately go directly to ourselves as reference, but what I find missing in each post (mine included) is what about other people?

So I’m going to take another shot.

    What’s holding me (us) back?

Our knowledge on how we can help other people.

Really, that’s the basis of how to provide value.

What’s holding me back from making the big bucks? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

All I have to do is take the knowledge crammed into my brain and select those who need my knowledge and connect the dots.

    Simple.

This is something I thought about for the past couple of days after posting my pitch in this forum.

You know, everyone there is nothing holding any of us back in ‘Making The Big Bucks”

    Now get to work.

    Hahahahahaha!

I agree with alot of the other posts, I don't have anyone to tell me what my problems actually are...

I really think most people, including me would benefit from a mentor at the beginning of their career, it would save people so much worry and disappointment in this industry..

I've just realized how to do a few things out of long, tideous research on my own, I must say eventhough my adsense account has about $9.00, it's very rewarding to see that I did it alone...

I know the possibilities are endless with the internet and I'm ready to succeed.
