Really though, I have the opposite problem, once people see the checks they want in on it too, then they get lazy and quit.

I get the same thing. They'd always joke about me doing something dirty

I find it especially hard with family - especially from older generations.

It just doens't make sense to them. They too think it is all a big scam, and that it is not a real way to make money.

I have chosen not to talk to them about it - makes life much easier

I tell everybody I sell porn...

The best solution is to tell them you have a bricks and mortar shop that sells porn and scams people.

And there is a very good reason for that, and it is universal to all of us, study talk language / in that people do not care about you and or what you do / it is human nature, nothing more.

When with people they want to talk about themselves not you or what you do, / if you do you will bore them and they will become distant.

Instead ask how they have been, often you can with 5 words or less keep people talking for ages with little short tag lines, " I seen your new boat in the lane, have you been fishing in it yet" / 1 hour later they are probably still talking and all i do is nod and murmer now and then.

Do that and your a hero to them, stand there and tell them your story / they are bored.

Same when people ask " how was your day / or how are you" they don't want to hear your answer, they are just prepping for you to ask the same back so they can tell you.

If anyone said they thought I made my money via porn I would have to thank them for flattering me!

It's the same story for a lot of us I suppose. Whenever I tell my friends or family about how I am able to pull in a full-time income by working online, they ALWAYS jump to the conclusion that I own a ton of porn websites..

It's really irritating, but it's a fact you'll have to live with. Not many people know about internet marketing.. or atleast know that it actually works from experience, so it is only us whom have experienced it and those around us that will truly understand how internet marketing works.

In other words. I own 70+ websites, 0 of these websites are porn or erotic related

I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in years and he asked me what I did. I said "internet marketing". His immediate response was "so you're one of those guys always sending me ads for Viagra?"

I said "no" and went on to explain a little more. Thinking back, I should have asked him why he was getting so many ads if that nature.

Then there was a family member who sort of understood what I did but still felt uneasy about it. It boiled down to them not understanding why anybody would pay for information. I said, "ever hear of books?".

To which they replied, "but you can get information for free on the internet, who would PAY for it?"

My response was, "but people can go to the library and get books for free, but they still buy them."

You know what? It actually kind of, sort worked, almost. They don't look at me with that look any more and I get the impression that they are somewhat interested in what I do now.

Oh well, it takes all kinds. Let's face it, most people won't do what we do; whether they understand it or not.

Now, how often do you all smile on the inside when people don't get it?

As long as it brings the money in, does it really matter what others think, or say about you. Remember people like to Gossip! heck take a look at the product review section of the board here, just to remind yourself of the negativity of human nature.

I'll bet you/we earn far more than those that accuse you of being a porn broker or scammer, do at thier 9-5 Just Over Broke

There's nowt so queer as folk (as they say in Yorkshire!)

And if you do email marketing, they say you're doing spam.
