Blu-ray codec for Windows Media Center?

Hi,

I have a Windows Media Center (Windows 7 64bit), and in the computer a blu-ray drive.
However, as default Windows will not play blu-ray discs. Do you know how I can get around this (without having to play my discs in another application than Windows Media Player or Media Center)?
Can I install a codec of some sorts?

Thanks.

Best regards,
Thomas

I thought bluray was a different TECHNOLOGY! Wikipedia seems to agree!
The name Blu-ray Disc refers to the "blue laser" used to read the disc, which allows for six times more storage than on a DVD.
SO, if your DVD is not blue ray compatible, it will NOT be able to read the data of the disk!!! It would be akin to trying to read the latest DVD on an OLD CDROM drive. All the codec does is tell the computer what to do with that data.

If your drive is blueray compatible, it SHOULD have come with the CODEC.

Sadly Windows media player doesn't come with a lot of codecs for playing different media.
Seems I even had a thread about this a year or so ago because my brother in law couldn't get dvds to play on his laptop.
I had several people here recommend this site, but I could never get it to work for me. ( Of course, I only had the laptop for one night, given more time I WOULD have found some solution one way or another!)

I found a solution. I downloaded Cyberlink Power DVD. It makes a plugin in Windows Media Center, so all is good now.

    Thanks.
