Do you think internet related technology and the internet overall has helped and advanced mankind or do you think it has harmed the development of mankind?

I have always viewed the internet as a double edged sword.. The best about it is it is unlimited information and the worst is it is unlimited information. The deciding factor boils down to it all depends the person and the information they seek.

Is the future of "living in the cloud" a good one, or the mark of decline?

The pinnicle of human existence pegged out with the invention of indoor plumbing.

We've just been trading monotonies since then...

Where can I get this ... indoor plumbing ... thing you speak of?

PS - Technology is neutral. The advance or decline of humanity rests within us.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

        Dennis,

I live way out in the country and one friend I have is 75 years old and his mom is 98. We we're talking a while back and I used that 'indoor plumbing' line and he looked at me and went "Sh!t, we never had that stuff when I was growin' up."

"In fact my mom never got it until she was 80 years old."

Turns out in 1992 the county passed an ordinance that all habitable houses had to have indoor plumbing. So he, being a contractor, installed indoor plumbing against his mom's wishes to comply with the ordinance. He's been after her for decades to do it but she never wanted it.

Well, can you blame her? I mean, those boards you sit on to take care of your business do get worn into a comfortable fit over the years.

Technology is what it is today and beyond. The more we know the less we do I mean we got robots that cooks and greets people now. Richard Branson is coming out with his space tours. Electric cars are hitting the streets and windmills floating in open seas. I love it.

My great grandmother was like that.. as a kid the rule was dont fall in the hole. :O)

Funny thing was in high school a class conversation came up about outhouses and how bad they must stink.

I didnt even blink a eye and said, "Na it is not that bad at all. You just throw lime in before and after and that takes care of any smells."

The looks on the faces of the other kids in my class were nothing short of being stunned that anyone would know anything like that.

It was a long time before people would come over to my house..

    :O)

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

It's difficult to underestimate the change that is universal and easy access to the Internet has been our way of life. Web is now so popular that it has penetrated into our daily lives, becomes how we stay, share information, complete chores, and even earn an income. When we think of the Internet and how it has changed our lives, the first things that come to mind, e-mail, online banking and shopping online. But there's more.

Well it all depend on individuals.. People have really attained a lot from internet and are now expert in their fields.. On the other hand some have used internet only for watching porn which is really a waste of it!
