In this video I talk about a conversation that came up during George Sepich's Friday Night Chat.

How much do you think is OK to share about yourself with your list/audience?

I wouldn't say much, you might be working online from home but still " you're online" and who knows who is on the other side.

I agree with OP, it's whatever you feel is necessary and comfortable.

However, always have a slightly biased filter toward privacy when dealing online, you'd be surprised how much a determined individual can find out about you if they REALLY REALLY wanted to.

What have you got to hide?

I'm a naturist, and having no inhibitions about people seeing "all I have to offer" in person, I certainly don't mind them checking me out online.

    "Let it all hang out"
    is my philosophy.

(Just kidding ... and I'm not really a naturist! )

Anyone with nothing to hide is boring to be around. Either they've never experienced anything - or they feel they must tell you every detail of the life. Either way, I'm out of there.

It depends what sort of person you are imo. If you are naturally quite an outgoing sort of person who likes to interact with lots of different people then say as much as you feel comfortable. If you are quite shy then you don't have to share much at all, no one will judge you on that
