Dear all

MyCheckFree.com keeps sending ebill to me. I emailed them telling the name in the account is not my name and requesting stop sending ebill to me. But, they replied me to phone them.

Their toll free no. is not applicable to me because I'm not living in USA.

What should I do to resolve this unsolicited ebill? The due amount has accumulated to $706.73 now. I even can't login the account in MyCheckFree.com by using my email address.

Thanks
George

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

More questions here.

1) Is "Yu S Lai" the owner's name of this account you billing? Please confirm. But, that is not my name.

2) Which company is filing this bill? What service? How can I contact them?

3) Your toll free phone no. 800-564-9184 is not applicable to me because I'm living in Hong Kong since I was born. I think your toll free no. is only valid within USA. Right? Do you expect me calling you by long distance? Who will pay the phone bill?

4) Why you charge $75 now and it's only $25 a month previously?

Sincerely
George

I'd just block their domain from sending email to me. If you are not the person they are looking for, it isn't going to hurt you if they can't contact you.

Check free has some SERIOUS problems. If you are in ANOTHER country, don't have YOUR info on the bill, don't use checkfree, and don't deal with macy's, FORGET IT!

And there should be a LAW against one sided communication here. TECHNICALLY there IS. You are SUPPOSED to have the right to dispute, answer, etc... But such agencies TYPICALLY pull this garbage. And Watts lines could get VERY expensive! They aren't NEARLY as bad now, but 20+ years ago, FORGET IT! SO, they have ones that work ONLY in the state, that work anywhere but, etc... BUT, they want to look like big shots and provide their watts line(800 number, etc...). Just about 2 weeks ago, I had to call a place that ONLY gave their 800 number. GUESS WHAT!?!?!?! I was in california, they were in california, so their 800 number WOULDN'T WORK! I had to search further to find their regular number!

Just ring their toll free number as you would dial any international number. It will work but you will be charged for the call as for any normal international number.

I'd follow the suggestion they sent and go on their online chat and tell them:

      This person is NOT me

I am NOT responsible for this

That said - I am confused why you mentioned their charges or $25 vs $75 when replying to them - do you have one of their accounts? If so, I'd close it immediately. If you have no association with this company - you don't need to worry about the charges.
