I don't know if it shows my age, but I will always appreciate what Star Wars did for me. It was more than a movie. Just today, I was playing the Darth Vader theme song, and walking through the grocery store. Know one knew that I was pretending to be Darth Vader as I walked. That may sound crazy, but I think some childhood fantasies are great in having a sense of what life is about.

And of course, I love reading Yoda's quotes. Here are a couple that I like:

  • Any film, or for that matter book or piece of art that inspires you is good for you I would say.

As for Star Wars, I remember seeing the original film (A New Hope) in the theaters and how magical it seemed.

Didn't the guy who directed the third one pass away recently?
  • I was 10 or 11 years old when Star Wars came out. It was pretty much a life-changing event for a boy that age. I remember going back to the theater probably 5 more times to watch it over and over with some friends. We blew through our mowing money in a hurry!

But for me, the real eye-opener wasn't a movie. It was a book: Atlas Shrugged. Anyone who has never read that needs to do it asap. Especially business owners.

  • Yea, I remember some kids bragging they saw it 10 times or more. There would be a conversation like this:
    I saw it twice
Well, I saw it 6 times
Well, I saw it 10 time!
  • "Do, or do not. There is no 'try.'" - Yoda

At the end of the day, that's really all there is to it.
  • When I'm not in the Jedi Temple and a movie comes on, if the 20th Century Fox music starts my wife always has to let me know that sorry, Star Wars is not about to begin playing.
