For those that have been following, up until today I thought my team was number one in fundraising and the winner of the billboard . I just got an email saying that a team I have never even see named or listed before is now in the number one spot.

    Sounds like a shill. Billboards are expensive. It's probably cheaper for someone to come in and donate than to buy their own ad space. It might not matter how much more you raised, if they just appeared out of nowhere, they are willing to top your amount for that board.

    There's creeps everywhere, Kim. Don't take it to heart.

    Sal, you have good points. The fact that I have been watching it for about two months now and never saw that name before is the only thing that bothers me. I had actually been expecting a last minute push by Media General to top me at the last minute!

      I think Sally nailed it.

      What a shame, but your efforts really paid off, and if wasn't for Allen's generousity (as well as all those fine folks here) you wouldn't have even gotten a run on the dream.

      Kudos to you for doing such a good job for them. You deserve massive credit.

        Guys - If you are going to collect more money - collect if for Kim personally. If this organization allowed someone into the "walk" contest after the fact of the walk after not having told people that someone could enter the contest at any time they pleased, it was an insider who allowed that to happen, which means they will know who has a "last minute" spike and will have arranged to keep this intruder informed to keep that billboard. There is no way to beat that team. That's what a schill is. It may have even been pre-arranged.

        The person in charge of the Richmond walk should be reported to the National Branch of the Kidney foundation. A lot of people just pitched in a LOT of money for their favorite teams just to be duped with a rigged race. It's disgusting. And - there will be a lot of future donors lost because next year they aren't going to bother donating to a team who can't win despite their earnings.

        Hmmm. Maybe it's just time to send a few emails, eh?

    Sorry,just back after treatment. Yes, we have until January 19th. And of course now after reading a couple of posts,I understand my PM,lol. Of course, I have become a liar,as I said last week I wasn't going to talk about the walk again til after Christmas,but looks like a promise that was meant to be broken.

    Kim, I'm so sorry this happened. I'm with Sally on this one - I think everyone who donated should send an email off to the NKF.

    We were even watching the stats, just to be sure you remained in 1st place.

      Your turn is coming Kim.....that kidney is on it's way...you just need to fully recover from your heart operation in order to be able to receive it.

      There is a time and place for everything......patience does wonders...of which I know you are well aware of.

      I have know doubt you will receive a healthy kidney when your body is able and ready to accept it.

    Well, its not what I expected nor is it what I was told I would get,but it is something and it is up.
    I asked that they have the team name and the WF logo on the bottom half and the team pic on the upper half.
    What I got was no Team name banner nor the WF logo shown.
    I actually don't know how long it has been up,I just happened to ask the lady running the walk this year if there was any word on it and she told me if had been up for a while now. :rolleyes:
    Anyway, we are going to try to get someone with a decent camera to go by and get better pics,my camera is a 3.1 mp and ancient by todays standards.
