I do donate to some charities, but this is more for the newbie marketers who have spent all their money on web hosting and traffic sources this year to learn the ropes, and dont have any left over for Christmas (4 years ago this was me, hence the reason I want to pay it forward)

I think the OP's intention to give hope and opportunity to someone currently in the same situation as he was 4 years ago is very honorable. He remembers how it felt, and also shows that success is very possible even if starting in dire circumstances.

Thank you, indexphp. for your example, and the goodness of your heart. This is one more thing that makes being a member of the Warrior Forum a good choice.

Merry Christmas to you, and to all!

I second that. Give the money to a charity. There are so many that will welcome your donation. I can give you a list of them if you wish: NSPCC (child protection), Save the Children, MacMillan (cancer charity) etc.

I second PhoebeSmellyCat suggestion. I know you are trying to give away the $50, but I am sure that the beneficiaries in either of those organizations are in FAR MORE need that I am. Those organizations would put the money to good use (travel arrangements for parents and child to chemo appointments).

Thank you for this post and the first responder. It puts me in a mind of GRATITUDE. Just like to say that I am so very grateful right now for everything I have, no matter how small the amount or what the present condidtion of any situation. There are so many others out there in dire need.

Peace and Love to the Board and GIVE THANKS!!!

    Why you should pick me?

I need some money to pay for the listing of my 2 domains that I want to flip on Flippa.com

Why I don't have money to do that?

I don't have a PayPal account. The AlertPay account I have has just $0.50 left because I have given the last dollar in it to a warrior looking for some cash to buy a domain name.

Why I want to sell the domains?

I want to buy brand new domains that will help me to touch more lives here in WF and out there in the "real" world in 2011 and beyond.

    Just my reasons.

Its great of you to give back something to the community like this, especially today I don't think I'm gonna win anything but its better to try and lose than not to try at all.

      Why should you pick me?

Well, I don't really know why you should pick me, since I bet there are many others out there who need the money more than I do. You should just follow everyone's advice and donate the money to charity. That would be a great gift to many kids who can't spend Christmas like all others do.

Why would I want the money?

I'm a complete newbie in affiliate marketing and I've been trying to earn money online for quite some time now. If I were to win the money, I'd invest it all and try to begin my career in affiliate marketing or I'd save some more and buy a guitar for my brother, which I've been trying to buy for over a year now.
Again, you should just ignore my post and donate the money to a good cause. I wish you a Merry Christmas and may the best win

I Just messaged you. I want to help you out.

You want to take action with my money, not use it to buy something random, or buy more products and more products. I hate giving away cash, but if you want me to pay for your flippa listings, I'd go and pay for those at Flippa for you.

I want to see more people successful, and especially you.

I hardly have any knowledge in what the other people stated because I am very new to this whole thing as you can tell from my own thread I started just 30 minutes ago.
What I can tell you is that I am prepared to work harder than anyone else to succeed in this field. I have a real passion for writing short essays and I can tell you beyond a shaddow of a doubt that im great at it and I could really use the 50$ to get me started. Despite that, I consider myself a good guy and willing to learn a lot.
If you have 50$ to spare for something like this rather than a charity, you must be doing pretty great yourself, so if you decide to award the money to me, I will settle with you for 40$ plus some helpfull advice
and you can award 10$ to 2nd place, just a thought.
Anyway, even if you don't pick me, I want to say thanks for the opportunity and have a merry christmas.

P.S If you don't pick me, i'd still love for you to give me advice, if that's not asking for too much.

Ha ha well I can say I would normally give it to a charity as well, however considering the fact that I've recently been laid off I probably am the charity! This is a true story no joke... I got laid off at the end of September and have been unable to find a decent replacement job since! I'm on unemployment and I feel like I'm sinking, as my wife is on Maternity leave as well, and our household income has become less then half the norm. So we have a new baby along with an 8 and 9 year old a dog and mortgage. Not to mention other debts. You want to know how I got my kids gifts for the holidays. First I won a 4th gen Ipod touch out of a block stacker game at walmart which I proceeded to sell on eBay! I then took the payments from that and applied it to two 8 " android tablet pc's on eBay kind of like iPads. I then did the rest of my Christmas shopping using $800 in amazon gift codes I received using a freebie site! My kids will be having a good Christmas thanks to the freebie site and a little work and determination from me. If it wasn't for the freebie site they probably would have gotten next to nothing for Christmas. Now here I am I spent my last PayPal $$ on some hosting a domain name and freebie script because I want to try running one of these sites. Hope I can make some money? Good luck to me and Merry Christmas to all!

Mr Gary, can you teach me how to fish?

I have confidence in the site I built, but I have no confidence in ways to drive traffic to them

Can you point me to the spesific thread in Warrior Forum which I could learn traffic generation?

Tell me, "this thread {insert link}, follow the advice on that thread, you'll make money"

    That's a nice gesture.

Check out the neighbors that aren't able to have a Christmas... maybe they couldn't get their child anything at all, maybe they aren't even having a Christmas dinner. Maybe someone couldn't get their much needed meds filled.

So many really NEED a helping hand. I can't say I wouldn't WANT $50, but there are so many who NEED it. For me to come up with a reason I WANT it would be easy, but when there are in NEED, that would be selfish of me. After all, I have food on the table, my kids got a few gifts, the bills are paid, etc.

Need and want ... such a huge difference in those two words.

    Merry Christmas!

$50 would be great for me. I could really use it to start on a whole new site especially since my most recent one went down into Google's dreaded Sandbox. I could buy a new domain name and some content then somehow get some backlinks.

Though giving it to charity isn't a bad idea either - there are people who don't even have a roof over their heads.

Lord Knows I could use an extra $50 but IMHO you should take your money put it in an envelope and find a needy family in your area. Just quietly walk up to there door and if they have a mail slot drop it in or leave it where they will be sure to find it. Just write gift on the envelope so they know its for them.

Other wise find a food pantry or homeless shelter and give it to them. There are too many people in the world far less fortunate than we are.

This is the kind of stuff I love. I like to also give to those in need. Throughout the year, I like to buy 1-2 kids their sports gear that they need to play sports so they are wearing what their team members wear as well as pay for some of the kids school pictures. I also donate to many other charities that have my name and number :-) It's such a great feeling when you're able to help others who aren't as fortunate. I have 3 children myself, make okay money outside the home and love to help the kids they go to school with and it makes my kids feel good that they can help their friends/school mates. It also teaches my kids to be giving and not greedy and that not everyone is as fortunate and we are lucky especially now a days.

I take my hat off to you for being so generous.

Personally, I would donate it to one of many worthy charities or somebody homeless or on the skids in your locality. Nice gesture.

I don't need the money either but I would suggest one of the above too. As for my personal preference, I would go with a homeless person because I've been there myself and know what it would mean to someone on Christmas getting $50 that's homeless.

      You know, this grates.

The OP is trying to help someone here on the Warrior Forum in a specific way. That is his choice and he can do it if he wants to.

By having people state their need publicly, he opens the door for many others to quietly and graciously help in their own way, if they like.

If you think it's better to donate locally, go donate your own money locally. The OP does not have to tell you whether he's already donated locally or how much or in what way. It is none of your damn business.

For all you know, he gave a fat check to his church, cooked dinner for the homeless in the street all night, and only just got home after delivering Toys For Tots through the wee hours of the morning. And if he has to tell you about it, that cheapens his efforts.

If you don't like the idea that someone else is helping others, get your own arse out there and help others in a way you do like. But don't go telling other people they can't help others the way they want to help. It's their money. It's their choice. Go make choices with your own money, and leave theirs alone.

Phoebe is the only one with the right idea. If the OP would like to help her with $50, she would prefer he donate it to a charity instead. That's the only "give it to charity" request here that doesn't amount to "I don't like what you're doing, so don't do it."

hey indexphp, im ste. i would really appreciate $50, i have used the only spare cash i have had this year on hosting and 2 domains which have failed miserably.

i have both sites ranked but as i am relatively new to im i have struggled to get them making money, in fact none have made any money.

i lost a well paying job last year, i was an asbestos remover. this resulted in my wedding being put off until may 2011. it now looks like happening again for the same reason, lack of funds.

        as a result of my

i have since tried to sell my sites to raise cash for a war room membership or warrior for hire ad in the hope that i can actually raise some money in the short term but also set myself up for the long term

$50 would mean the world to me at the minute and i would be very greatful. i would even gladly repay every penny to you as soon as i make my first few dollars.

          thanks for your time

You know what mate - Who the heck do you think are talking to! You may be the resident forum shrink, the prolific poster and a highly talented word smith, but I suggest you re-read my post before you attempt tear me to shreds whilst twisting my intentions. You've got me all arsed-backwards!

I congratulated the OP on his generosity twice! I sincerely meant it.

I never demanded anything. If you are going to criticise, then understand the distinction between demand and suggest.

I never demanded that the OP tells me that he has donated locally or by any other means, I merely suggested another way of donating. A couple of other posters have also alluded to this, in this same thread. I never told the OP what not to do, or what to do.

Don't you dare try to paint me in a bad light because I happen to take other people's feelings in to consideration. Some of the stories are heart-wrenching.

Do you think I am a bad person because I think there are alternative ways, other than a public forum, to be able to make a judgement call on peoples worthiness of a $50 donation.

Where in my post did I say that I did not like the idea of somebody donating a sum of money to somebody else?

You make an assumption that I don't give to charity. That's all it is, an assumption, based on a few words. You have no clue how and where I distribute my income.

FYI, I have donated money to other members of this forum during my time as a member. It was done via PM and email, entirely off the main forums. I insisted on anonymity.

No doubt you will come back at me with a laser-dissected retort to what I have just posted. I suggest you take it to PM, so as not to hijack this thread.

          You.

King Shiloh was assisted by someone OTHER than the OP precisely because he made his request in public.

You would rather he kept his dignity, rather than get that assistance?

          Nobody made him respond.

It's up to the individual respondent whether his dignity is worth more than $50. Let human nature and economic incentive work their magic.

I don't think you're a terrible human being. I just think you're asking for what you would prefer. But if you want to be in charge, start your own thread.

Im not trying to get everybody to come up with a sad story. At all.

I was more expecting people to say things like "Invested my last $2k into Google Adwords. 0 conversions. Working 16 hours per day and trying to make it"

This is actually what is happenning to me. I have invested in articles written and now I need to build links. I have very little money so I need more to purchase a tool to build links. I think that Article Marketing Robot can do the trick for me since it allows me to add more directories to the soft, which is great because I also have a website in Spanish so I nned to send to Spanish article directories.

You're right about that, CERTAINLY. I've done all that, INCLUDING what the OP eventually did. I once gave money to a guy that I should have KNOWN would NEVER pay it back. He just took and took and took. When I finally decided ENOUGH IS ENOUGH some mutual friends were meeting, he tried to ask for more "donations", and some jerk said "Ask Steve, he'd be GLAD to give you the money.". I forgget how I reacted, but the guy never got a penny from me again. Sometimes people accused me of things like I was heartless, etc... and I probably did more for charity than they ever will. And some acts were almost like winchester on mash at Christmas, where even the RECIPIENT had no idea that I paid for, or even suggested, the gift, even when I DELIVERED it. Ironically, they didn't think much of winchester on MASH either, since he often WAS a snob, etc...

Phoebe is the only one with the right idea. If the OP would like to help her with $50, she would prefer he donate it to a charity instead. That's the only "give it to charity" request here that doesn't amount to "I don't like what you're doing, so don't do it."
You're right HERE as well. It just would have been nice if there were a more realistic expectation of just and reasonable benefit. In at least 3 of the 5 cases, I wouldn't have considered making a donation. I mean with some things, you might as well go to las vegas and pay people at the tables. After all, THEY "need" money too! And they'll generally be all too happy to take it. You could EASILY donate BILLIONS. Then again, you COULD just flush it down a toilet and cut out the middleman.

    Hello index... lol

I'm kind of jealous that you can afford to give away $50 dollars.

Some people like me just can't afford that!!!

Why you should give it to me?

Well because I strongly believe that I'm the one going through the worst Christmas out of everyone...this year Christmas is the worst I've ever had, I'm studying at home to prepare for my final exams coming up next week. (It's like this over here)

So some free gift is maybe what I need as an encouragement lol. Would help a lot.

I don't think I'm the poorest here, but I think I'm one of the poorer ones... lol

Your $50 would make me able to buy a wso which I really wanted to buy...

But anyway, I'll take my chance man.

    Merry Xmas,

    Hi,

I don't need the money but my sister and her husband sure do.

He lost his job and picked up some part time work making half of what
he was on his other job.

The closer to Christmas it got the less work for him they had for him.

They are taking care of his mom that just was told she was going to need
surgery on her heart, she is 90 years old.

    Thanks for the generous offer.

    God less you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

P.S I gave them my last $30.00 bucks to help.

In My Honest Opinion - I'd suggest you Buy someone something worth of $50, Instead of Giving Him/Her a mere $50.

You may never know what he/she would do of your $50 after you give it away.

So, help someone buy an eCourse, a Membership, or anything that's available under or up to $50.

This way you're 100% Sure that your money, indeed spent on a Good Thing, and also you can be sure that the Person In Need, Got Exactly What He/She Wanted!!!

That's just my Opinion or a Humble Suggestion.

    This is a great post,

I think though that if someone has the ability to post on this forum then they have the ability to make money themselves.

Why not write a short wso with a step by step to get someone started making money online and give it away free you can help more than one person then and give them much more value? $50 will definately help someone starting out is a great gesture I just think it will just get swallowed up.

Why You Should Choose Me To Receive $50

I'm a work-at-home guy from the Philippines trying to make money on the Internet. For the past few months, I've been studying a lot of educational materials from e-books, videos and forums. What I just need is the starting capital to get things started. I don't have enough money to buy the tools and programs that can help me jumpstart my online business ventures.

If you choose me to receive the $50, I will use it to buy an autoresponder subscription and a few domain names. I already have web hosting because of a huge discount I got from my hosting company. I really need to get things started by early January of 2011. I'm sick and tired of being poor and dependent on the kindness of other people just to continue living everyday.

One of my dreams is to have my own house. I'm still living with my parents at my age (30). I want to be financially independent and I believe that Internet marketing is my ticket to financial independence. But I need to work very hard to achieve my dreams.

      Thank you!

Find a widow and give it to her in your community so that she can get some help on her house. Better yet go do work on her house. Or give it to a single mom OR dad who needs the help.

Or Charity. Donate it to Reece's Rainbow to go toward the adoption of a special needs child in another country who would otherwise be institutionalized for the rest of their life.

Ya I'd like to add I wasn't trying to put down the OP for giving away his own money. It's his money! If he wants to give it to a fellow warrior by all means I think that's awesome! I was just stating what I would do with the money if he gave it to me. Honestly, we are on a super tight budget right now. I have no expendable income for IM other than what I am bringing in from it.

I wanted to donate to Reece's Rainbow (nonprofit down syndrome adoption ministry) this year but we just don't have much money to give. So if you give it to me it's going straight to them!

All I can say is this:

Life is all about different strokes for different folks.

I appreciate the OP for choosing this path to show his spirit of giving.

I also urge those that dont like the path he took to take a deep breath and think about this question, "Can I be You?"

EDIT: If you need the $50, I can ask him to send it to you. After all, I have done that before in this forum.

This is Warrior Forum, where giving is not just a way of life but a spirit and no human can stop the movement of a spirit.

    Many thanks to indexphp.

    Happy Holidays.

I just wanted to say thanks for showing such generosity to those who needed it. It is very inspiring, and quite the opposite of what I'm used to seeing from so many marketers in the IM niche.
