Who is Mark Blaze?

I got some random g-chat message yesterday saying "Hey do you have a list in the IM niche? or promote anything in your sig at the WF?" I did a search for his name here and it says "Banned".

  • Sometimes I think there should be a banned thread with the names and reasons.
    As it is I will see a name, such as the one the OP was asking about,and see nothing that would indicate a problem behavior. Granted, I do not see everything and I feel the mods do an excellent job, but there are still times I would like to know what happened.

    • Someone made that exact suggestion on another thread in which several high profile marketers were hyping up a very unworthy piece of software that's caused thousands upon thousands of dollars of grief for those who bought it. I think it's a fantastic idea.

    • Kim,It seems like a good idea, if you don't know the system. It would be a disaster for everyone involved.

      You should never assume anything from the word "Banned" under someone's name other than that they've been banned for some period. It doesn't always come from anything bad, and it's not usually anything most people should/would be concerned about.

      We've had any number of people ask to be banned, simply to force themselves not to spend as much time here. Others have had temporary bans for relatively minor things. And some come from things that are more a matter of getting stuck in a bad communication mode than anything else.

      You can't assume anything from just that word. You will be wrong far more often than not if you do.
