Foreign Language Website Craziness

I am temporarily not in the USA. Many big name sites that I visit - Google, Adobe, Microsoft, etc. apparently read my IP address and present their page in the local language which I can't read.

In some cases it's fairly easy to find the English button but in many cases it's not or even if I choose English it doesn't "stick".

While this is awfully convenient for local users, it's a total pain for me. Outside using a proxy or some other get up are there other ways to change this?

Thanks for any input,
Mark

  • If you are using Firefox, you can install an addon called "always '.com'", which adds the "google.com in English" engine to your search engines tab. Just google for: always ".com" - Google.com (in English) , and install the addon

As for Microsoft Office, Adobe, Windows... the Lord be with you X_x
