Would you want to be a celebrity?

By celebrity, I mean that someone that you constantly see on the Internet, TV, newspaper, etc. Someone that is always in TMZ or whatever other celebrity stalker errr.... "paparazzi" media.

I would definitely NOT want to be a celebrity. At first, it might be pretty cool with everyone following you around and someone to serve your every need. But, after a while, it would get really annoying.

What are your thoughts?

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

I wouldn't want that, I like my privacy. I have had a couple people recognize me from my books and come up out of the blue and ask for an autograph. I suppose you'd get used to it to some degree if it happened regularly, but let me tell you, it's ... very different ... to be approached by strangers and asked for an autograph.

It impressed my buddies, but it was a little unsettling for me. I used to have a contest where I'd distort celebrity faces and give prizes out to people who could figure out who it was. One time I did Meg Ryan, and apparently someone was a little too much of a fan -- he sent an email saying he'd kill me if I didn't take it down. I didn't take it down until the contest had run it's course, but you can probably guess what one of the thoughts I had were when a guy walks up to me out of the blue and ask, "Are you Boogie Jack?"

Let's just say I was ready to swing if I had to. I can definitely understand why many of the big stars have bodyguards and elaborate security systems.

Nowadays "being a celebrity" has lost its aura compaired to a few decades ago. Anybody can be one if he/she makes good use of the wide choice of ways to communicate and socialise worldwide. It is a paradise for exhibitionists! Whether I would like to be one....Having to report to my fans on Twitter and Facebook every move on top of the paparazzi chasing me...hell, no!

Well, the money would be great! I guess there's a big trade off. Celebrity=big problems. I do like attention though... but stalking would be too scary. Guess I'll never have to worry about it.

I'd like a lot of things that go with being a celebrity - but I wouldn't want the masses to be able to recognize me out on the street. I'm not social enough to get into that. Now if it's a gathering of people who you know and they just feel you are the greatest thing to step onto planet earth, that is not so bad. A little embarrassing at times maybe.

Depend.. I guess there are goods and bads in popularity.. Famous people do get tons of nice free stuff and make tons of easy money just by being pretty.

It would get annoying for sure with all the paparazzi though.

I love my life the way it is now
