Jeepers, Kim! I didn't know that we had to spell it out for you, but I guess we do. Ok, here's how it works, Kim... The Warriors are coming together to take care of the financial end of things. All we ask of you is to stay healthy so that you can remain on the list and get that kidney. OK? Deal? Can you promise to hold up your end of the bargain? ![]() Becky p.s. Kim Winfery! Okay guy - I have never pushed anything about medicine or healing on you yet - but this time I'm going to do it. Here it comes guy. If I need to pour a guilt trip on you, I'll do it -- so listen up. Fake (alternative) aspirins are one of the leading causes of Kidney and liver damage in this country today. If you don't believe me get into some heavy research and do it fast because you don't want to wreck that new kidney you are going to get, too. You have one shot at this one - so do it right. If you can't handle regular aspirin get buffered aspirin - you can also get willow bark from a health food store (which is about what aspirin is made from anyway but without so much acid. STOP taking tylonol or anything like it if you value your health. I won't touch that crap and so am not sure, but it might even have warnings right on the labels of those nasty drugs. There have been class action lawsuits against some of those meds and FDA actually was going to pull Advil off the shelf but the pharm industry had the money to stop them. DO NOT mess with those deadly drugs. Please look up lawsuits - look up information about those things. It might make the difference whether you live or die after a transplant. We already know kidneys are not a strongpoint for you so stop tempting fate, guy ----- READ UP! |

Kim - Breathing a sigh of relief that the problem wasn't worse. Never of a sore throat as a heart symptom either! Here's hoping the transplant people won't require a full six months wait for you. This has to be so frustrating to get excited and then have to wait again. I feel for you. kay |

THANK YOU SALLY SEZ! I winced when I saw Tylenol too - one of the worst things in history even for 'well' people. Even Ibuprofin isn't that great - even for well people. (I am dumb and rationalized - well he is under a doctors care I guess they know what they are talking about.) lol snicker. Case in point - the primary care physician didn't even compute hey this guy is in kidney failure - what can i look at beyond the obvious - etc - then there was the group in the hospital that had to be badgered to look beyond the end of their fricking noses. God help us when people used to just believe everything they were told by MDs and not doing their own research... (they used to beat you up for it, but) nowadays they can appreciate (maybe while under duress) that their patients may just find something they didn't know that became apparent 20 years after they went to medical school and might be so gracious as to consider what they say <end of rant> Love, Sheeza |

Patrician and Sal are both right. The problem is that the drs can't make up their minds on what I can and cannot take. Take an aspirin a day, don't take an aspirin a day. You can take Tylenol but not advil, you can take advil but not tylenol, etc etc. Luckily the heart doctor put me back on the aspirin a day. Of course he now added Lipitor and Plavix, and fish oil. Of course, I am anxious to see what long term effect this will have on me.Theoretically I should notice an improvement within a week or two. I will definitely keep posting, both the good and the bad.But I'm thinking the good will outweigh the bad. |

I must say, that I have never ever saw such a united family like this one I am discovering day by day, in the WF. Kim I hope everything will work perfectly for you, and even if I'm new in here and I don't know everybody, (stopped lurking and decided to participate) all I can say is that even with your problem, you are lucky to be surrounded by so many caring people, willing to help! Get well soon, as I know how much discomfort can kidneys might do.

Same with nutrition - you want to know about nutrition - ask a nurse, not a doctor. Most doctors have never had a nutrition course. Nurses have many. Don't forget - in the USA, pharmaceutical companies are at the top of the food chain in course design that compose a doctor's education. Most are trained to diagnose, medicate, and operate. That's all they know unless they get other education electively. When you need information on natural alternatives, you would seek a certified naturopath. Drugs are a pharmacists line of work. Have you ever had a physician tell you not to drink milk or eat cheese with an antiboitic? Your pharmacist will either give you a paper telling you and probably will tell you verbally as well. That's his JOB. Always ask your pharmacist about anything you are taking - especially when given combinations. If the pharmacist is alerted by a combination have him call your doctor pronto.

One day we were talking about procedures in the operating room and he asked me, "Do you know who the smartest person in the operating room is?" I said, "The heart surgeon?" He said, "No, it's the head nurse. She needs to be several steps ahead of the doctor so she can anticipate his needs." The nurses are the real masters, most people have no idea how important and knowledgeable they are. I certainly didn't.

The problem there is that like most of us,people get complacent in their jobs and it can become routine and/or boring. While in some things you do want what you do to become second nature, in health care thats only partially true. In my way too many trips to the hospital since getting ill I have been tended to by many different nurses. Quite a few know me by name by now. I have become "personal" to them. To others I am just "the patient in room number so and so". I think you know which ones I tend to pay attention to more than the others. This is also why I have suggested that on a day off to visit a dialysis center. Most of the nurses there are the "routine" ones. Get the patient on,run the treatment get the patient off, "next". Most of the patients there look like they are one step away from the grave. I was not going to become one of those. Anyway, I'm rambling in my ranting. When I am being discharged and the nurse comes up and hugs me and tells me she never wants to see me again, thats the nurse I want taking care of me if and when I make another visit there. |

AlertPay is great Kim - they allow all the countries that Paypal and ClickBank discriminate against. It works just like Paypal and I never heard of frozen accounts. I was in a web conference last year and the owner spoke to us (he is a straight up Indian guy). You can link bank account for incoming and credit card for outgoing payments. (with that said I have a special checking account only used for the internet and only has a few hundred dollars in it - even the Pentagon has been hacked - and even though your bank should refund 100% anything robbed by fraud, it is a hassle - so I don't ever give my 'real' checking account to anybody except live and in person)... Some more true old wives tales - always transfer your money to your bank account from any online payment processor - every $50 - $100 bucks - again, anything can be hacked or even frozen by the government if they don't like some program you may be participating in - ...never forget StormPay and autosurf traffic exchanges - they took money not even involved in autosurf just because it was in the same account as autosurf dollars - and years later have never refunded money that was under 'investigation'. |

And now I am officially off the list again. I just got the call (not unexpected) from my transplant coordinator telling me I am off the list indefinitely. I am hopeful though that it will be a short time such as a month or so.

Kim, you have a history of bouncing back real fast. I'm sure it won't be too long. One of these days a donor will walk through the door for you that matches. If you are well and able, they aren't going to deny it to you. You just have to take care of yourself and get in shape to handle the surgery again. You can do that. You know you can. We know you can. So just do it.

Hey, I have been reading this thread and trying to find a way to buy that WSO. I really can't afford it right now so I thought I would offer my services. I noticed that someone is offering to write an article for people who buy the package. I'm sure the people writing are being flooded with articles to write with all the advertising the WSO is getting, so I am offering my services. I would love to pitch in on writing some of those articles if you are in need of help with them.

Kim's GoFundMe total is now $4096 I don't have access to the WSO income. I am so happy to see that folks are giving what they can, doing what they can, through sig links, WSO sharing, offers of services.... fantastic! It all helps, and nobody should second-guess their preferred method. It's exciting to see new ideas coming forth.
