Forced To Leave IM Due To Lack Of Finances

Hello World. This isn't another one of those "I'm frustrated with IM and I quit" or "IM is BS" threads or any of the I Quit threads you may see around here. The fact of the matter is this - I have had success in IM. But my efforts to take it to the very next level have failed. Yeah, sure, failure is to be expected. And because of all of the failures, I have gotten closer and closer to the mountain top. And now that I found what worked in IM, I was able to go at it full speed. But because of a huge problem which I don't know how I created, it left me right back to the drawing board. And because I am so confident and I believe in myself, I would give it another try. But herein lies the problem - I am completely out of money now. And I can't do it without money. No one can actually, and you simply can't prove the contrary other than getting a "real" job. I would need to buy a domain, outsource some of the most hedious tasks, and all of that good stuff. So yep, I am flat broke. And when I say broke, I mean $0.00 to my name, $0.00 in my bank account. And with a snowflake's chance in hell of getting a job plus a near $7000 debt that I shouldn't have to pay (innocent victim of the system), my life has unfortunately come to an abrupt, untimely, and disappointing end. I just have to live through years of mental torture, IF I live that long. Hell, I'm even considering selling my music equipment, but I don't even know if that will work, and that will put my ultimate dream to bed.

And because of all of that, I am forced to leave IM. Granted, I never wanted to quit. I wanted to go in this and keep going until it clicked consistently. However, the last gasp I had was not to be and all is absolutely lost.

But to all of the Warriors out there - this IM **** works! Yes it does, and I am living proof of it. I just wasn't able to take it to the next level. All of the factors were there for me to take it to the next level, but I was so close, yet so far. So that means sooner or later, my sites will be completely removed from the SERPs because my Hostgator subscription can't be renewed. If I only had $250 to spare, I could do this again. That is enough for a domain, backlinks, and content, plus hosting fees. Buying a domain - no way to get around that. No registrar in the world is gonna give you a free domain. Building backlinks - waste of time. Personally, I wouldn't build backlinks myself unless I got paid for it, which is why outsourcing the task to those that DO get paid for it is a must for me, not an option. Content - if you put a gun to my head and told me to write articles or die, you'd kill me. I can't write to save my damn life. Hosting - no free hosts out there, sorry. So I need cash to get all of these. Nothing is free but the best things in life. But alas, I don't have any of that, which is why I must bid IM farewell. I wish all of you newbies and established marketers nothing but the very best in 2011 and beyond.

Yes, my money sucks. I even have a T-Shirt with Stewie from Family Guy on it that reads "I got my mind on my money but no money in the bank!" So true for me at this point. But hey, I will still be around and posting, though most of my posts probably won't be IM related anymore and will be restricted to the off topic section haha.

I don't want to quit, but my empty pocket and bank account has forced me to. Don't fall for any of that "get rich quick" BS, please. God Bless you all, and don't quit out of frustration, guys! Keep going! You WILL succeed! If I can do it, so can you!

P.S.: For the next few days, I will be working on a free "report" to show you guys my successes and how to make money with Amazon and Adsense, my two biggest successes. Be looking out for it. I could do it as a free WSO, but that's $80 for the War Room membership and the WSO fee, which I obviously don't have. However, I will make it a post in the forum since opt-in isn't allowed here in the forum (not to mention I don't have the monthly costs for Aweber or GetResponse haha). It SHOULD help out newbies because helping out newbies is what I'm about.

Well, here's an idea...why not bum $40 off someone and do it as a PAID WSO, and then you'll start making money online.

OR, if you're really broke, whip up 2-3 reports and place them on Fiverr.com for free. With a catchy enough headline, you should be able to make some sales in the next few days and then you'll earn enough money to list your WSO.

There is no such thing as failure. There are a million ways to make a million dollars online. All you have to do is create something of value and put it in front of the people who need it.

    You can do it.

Oh man. I'm really sorry to hear that. I know you said you can't write, but I would suggest finding a product on clickbank and creating a series of free blogs promoting the products. If you create 2 blogs a day, I'm sure you'd have a little money coming in after a couple weeks.

Good luck and hope to see you back on WF with some success stories for us...

I was in a similar sitation about 2 years ago. I couldnt afford my hosting and essentially quit all my sites and IM for 12 months. I eventually got a job and started saving then gave it another crack and started making money online.

    You can do it too!

I know getting a job isnt easy but thats gotta be your #1 goal right now, doesnt matter what it is

BTW, I must say I hear some excuses in your post. You certainly CAN write well enough, your post is proof of that. Whether you want to or not is a different story.

I must say you certainly are NOT a failure. You've tested, tried, and just found out what doesnt work. keep at it and you'll reach your dreams and full potential.

Anyway best of luck and Internet Marketing will still be here when you come back (if you decide to leave).

I think that money is just leverage online. Money is never the problem. Its the lack of creativity. Theres plenty of ways to make an online business without spending, but you do have to do work. Build relationships with people online who you could outsource some of your work in exchange for something. If your confident with spending money online, you could get a loan. Start with Social Media if you have to. Never give up because you don't have money to spend. Sites like Fiverr.com can help you make side money. Don't stop thinking, get creative and build a plan. Build a system. Making money is business, many businesses fall because they don't have a system in place.

    Good luck!

No matter what your situation might be, I wouldn't give up. I think you'd eventually regret it.

You say you have several Web sites that will eventually be removed from the SERPs... can't you sell one of those sites to generate some money to keep you afloat? Maybe not on Flippa because of the listing fee, but there are other options.

If you need hosting, I'd be willing to host your sites for you -- no strings attached. Move them back to your own servers if and when you're ready.

I guess I neglected to mention that IF I can somehow, someway get some cash, I will be at it again FOR SURE. I'm very happy with the success I had and I'd love to give it another shot someday. But as of now it's No Money = No IM.

I didn't quit because I was frustrated or anything haha.

Your post is contradictory. You have written such an interesting piece here that i did not want to stop reading till i got to the end;but you say you cant write to save your life. You are quitting IM and yet you advice others not to. So what is really the catch here: Is it that you need a loan?

he certainly doesnt need a loan he is in $7,000 debt.

Mate if you need cash that bad, start writing articles for people at $5 a pop. Since you're unemployed you can write 10 a day easy. In 1 week you'll have your hosting paid for and some cash left over.

Heck if you write 10 article a day every day, submit to your own blog and EZA and throw up some Adsense (choose the right niches of course), you should make 20-40K by the end of the year.

It's not easy and will take a lot of work but it's an idea.

In all honesty though, trying to get a job is your best option for now.

To say that you need money to earn money is just flat out wrong. I started out with nothing at all. $0.

While it might be true that you have to spend money to generate a large scale income, that investment capital can easily be raised without spending a dime. You just have to be smart about where you place your time and energy and work hard.

Dude you don't have to quit, I started this s@#t 3 months ago without a cent to my name. I've been bum marketing for 3 months str8 now. (well I'm half bum-marketing now lol..since I'm bringing in some money) But anybody can do this with no money down. You don't need any money to make money online, you just need it to increase it.

Biggy, I'm sorry you are quitting because I know how hard you have tried. But.... I agree with Ernie that I'm hearing some excuses in your post. You say you can't write your content because you're not a good writer - not true, this post and many others I've read from you say otherwise!

You don't want to backlink because it's boring - I'm sorry but all of us have to do the tedious jobs when we don't have enough money to outsource yet so why should you be any different.

I think the problem is your mindset - it sounds like you just don't want to do the hard and tedious work that is involved in making a business successful.

Change your way of thinking and put in the effort, even to do those tedious tasks, and you can be successful!

I have to agree. We've spoken in depth over the last few months and it seems like you don't want to succeed. I have offered you great ideas that have not been acted upon.

Quitting should not be an option for you. You've invested too much into this.

This whole forum is full of great ideas. The music lyric site we spoke about is a great idea.

I am your cheer leader on this. I believe success is yours for the taking. Success is never convenient. Successful people make a decision and follow through with that decision daily. Great men are not made overnight.

Success is a daily decision based upon your thoughts and your actions.

I agree. Not to kick you while your down but this has to be at least the 4th or 5th post in the last year or two that you announce to the world about your financial difficulties.

I remember you had one about being "unemployable". Their always full of excuses and everyone's fault but yours. $7,000 in debt but it's not your fault?

Work on your mindset. And if you have to dig ditches to pay bills and get back to IM then do it. No shame in that.

Good luck. Hope things work out for you.

I totally agree with Sheryl. When I don't have money to outsource then I need to do the writing and backlinking myself. I'm kicking and screaming all the way but I HAVE to do it to reach my goals. I don't want to, but I HAVE to. It IS all about mindset!!

    Ok here's something to consider:

Why quit when you can get a job and keep working on IM at the same time?

EDIT: Here's a list of what you can do:

    Write articles for others
    Install scripts for others
    Design ecovers for others
    Design minisites for others
    Design WP themes for others
    Create niche products for others
    and a ton more....

I know it sounds like work but hey, BETTER THAN WORKING AT A JOB FOR SOMEONE ELSE?

Also, here is how some of the "problems" in your post can be solved:

    Need a webhost?
Use weebly, use blogspot, use tumblr, use anything. That's how I started off and you can too.

Aint the fanciest out there but heck it's free.

    Need a domain?
Use a free subdomain with any of the free hosts. Blogspot and weebly also have tons of ranking potential.

    Need backlinks, content etc.?

I got a simple solution for ya, DIY. Hey if you started off with IM thinking you WON'T have to do stinky and dirty work, I got news for ya, YOU WERE DEAD WRONG.

IM takes ton load of work and if you can't outsource it do it yourself.

I see that you are trying and I can tell that you can do it but I am also sorry to say you are making tons of excuses.

Here's what I tell most people when they make excuses:

    I can't write?
Learn how to or outsource or don't write.

    I can't do research?
Learn how to or outsource or don't research.

    I can't tie my shoe?
Learn how to or outsource or walk around with open shoe laces and faceplant on the street.

    I can't cook?
Learn how to or use a service (restaurant) or starve.

See, simple. And guess what, I'll tell you the same thing.

Learn how to or Outsource. Now obviously you don't have money so outsourcing isn't an option and you are left with no choice but to DIY.

What? It's boring and it sucks?

Well what's on your mind that's not boring and that doesn't suck?

    Finding a job???

    Being Homeless???

    Yeah right....

I'm sorry to hear about you financial trouble.

First thing is to get a loan from a family member(s) so you can survive till the end of the month. Job hunting takes time and so does IM. You need some kind of money now for your essential expenses.

With that said I agree with everyone else. Stop making excuses and work on your mindset. Get creative and think out of the box of ways to make money.

Don't have money to run a WSO or post a thread in the services section?
Get someone to sponsor you. I've seen it happen many times before on here.

People will fall over themselves to have a great writer write articles for them, it's may be tedious and boring but I've had people pay me $50 to write one article. You can literally make a full income doing things nobody wants to do.

The only way to fail is to give up.

You might want to take a deep breath, calm down and start over again with a clear mind once you've secured a loan or some emergency cash. You don't want to work on IM projects when you're desperate or in panic mode as that is not the state to be selling things to people in and you can't think clearly anyway.

As for getting a job. You can still do IM and have a part time or full time job. Though, you say your unemployable so if that's true what other options do you have than creating your own job and creating your own income? You could apply for unemployment or welfare but that no way to live over the long run.

Take a look at the "What to Do If You're Desperate" thread. There's some great ideas there. You've been given great systems here for making money without needing to spend money here also. Contrary to the saying you don't need money to make money. Sure it helps but it's not an absolute.

Keep going with IM. When I had my back against the wall in a similar situation a few years ago my financial survival skills kicked in and I made sure I had money by doing what had previously brought in money. Do more of what made you money.

I can feel your desperation. I, too, have little money to pay for my business expenses. But the fact that you have little money should not discourage you.

It's easy to make money on the Internet nowadays! That's the truth!

I'm not talking about Internet marketing, because obviously it takes a lot of effort, time and patience. What I mean is that there are fast and easy ways to make a quick buck or two.

Look around the Internet. There are hordes of people looking to outsource their "dirty" work to other people, even complete strangers. These people are even willing to pay huge sums of money to find reliable people to do their work.

Web content writing, website design, linkbuilding, blog creation, article submissions, video creation, voice overs, customer support, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

I'm sure you have a skill that people are dying to pay you huge sums of money. It's all a matter of going out there and offering your talents. You can start at Odesk since it's free to apply for jobs there.

Know what, I'm earning a decent income editing articles at crowdsourcing sites such as Cloudcrowd.

Now isn't the time to give up and quit, now is the time to push through the resistance and succeed. You need to stop making excuses. Excuses will get you nowhere.

You know you can put a up a blogger blog, a squidoo lens, or a hubpages for free.

One of my sites, I put up about 6 months ago. How many back links did I build? Exactly 11 total. The site is ranking number 1 and brings in over $100 a month. You can build 11 back links can't you? It took exactly 3 weeks for that site to get to spot 1 and stay there.

Change your focus and learn to identify low competition keywords, so you can get your sites ranking faster and start making some money.

I am not trying to be hard on you, I just want you to see that this is possible even with all your problems you CAN DO THIS!

    Don't give up.

    Take care,

Buy for $1, Sell for $2. That is the key to success.

If you can find something that people want, and if you can get the product to your target market, at a cost lower than what income you get from the product, then you are off to a great start….

IE. If you can find an SEO client who will pay you $5000(monthly or annually) and then you use a warrior who charges less than what your client pays you(like $500 monthly or annually), you will be better off.

Your income is only limited by your determination and creativity.

What I am really reading here is please someone take pity on me and give me some money because I am broke.
so if that is the plea why not just come out and say it truthfully. not that it would make people cough up but at least it would be honest.

You know why I say this? @ reasons 1 in ministry I heard all sorts of stories and pleas that would beat around the bush like this but the truth was they needed some cash

2 You are saying this IM __ Works well if you know it works and you would take the time to WRITE a pdf file to give away then that tells me your fishing.

    So.... what is up here?

Dude think about it - you cant find a job, and you will quit trying to make money by other means.

So what exactly are you going to do ?

Times are crap for sure but you must stay positive and focused.

The problem is not that he CAN'T get a job, it's that he WON'T get a job... apparently, it's beneath him to do so. I remember reading his blog about a year ago and he was ripping on the concept of having a job -- they don't pay enough for someone of his great intelligence, there is no security, and stuff like that. Thus, he has branded himself "Mr. Unemployable".

Now he's taken the whole thing a step further and refuses to do IM-related tasks like article writing, backlinking, etc. Apparently, that is all beneath him too. He's hinting around that he needs some funding, partially so he can outsource these tasks.

A year ago, he actually stated that he was giving himself a year to make it in Internet marketing or he was going to commit suicide (does no one else remember this?). Now his signature says "The last gasp has failed miserably. And now, because I have ZERO cash, I am forced to leave IM. Awesome three year ride, though! So now, my life will slowly but surely end." Sounds a bit melodramatic to me.

In my previous post I offered to help Biggy, but I never heard from him. I'm really not surprised.

Yikes, I didn't see his other post where he mentioned suicide and that line about his life will "slowly but surely end" is troubling.

Biggy, I don't know if you're serious or not but if those thoughts are even crossing your mind... please, seek help!!

It might just be drama but just in case...

    Kind of odd.
lack of finances is what forced me to START IM.

(as for the rest, it seems biggy does tend towards the dramatic)

All of our lives are slowly but surely ending.........but how you choose to deal with the time between today and that inevitable result......is all any of us have.

Why do people always say, i can not do this without money.

    Shut up!!!

I started using free methods of traffic. And not the article kind either.

Go to Facebook, create a group about anything, invite people, talk to them about that subject you chose, then promote a product from an affiliate site like clickbank or something. All free ways.

All i hear is excuse after excuse after excuse.

    I need money - don't we all!

You can afford to use the internet, you can afford to feed yourself, you can afford to house yourself.

Everyone thinks, money i need to do this and that. Lies, all lies.

Facebook is free, that is how i started and still use it until my websites start producing.

All you have said is an excuse. No sympathy from me.

I have never written an article, done a backlink, or any tedious task. All outsourced.

Well, unlike others, I'm not going to yell at you. You know what's best for your personality and your particular circumstances and obstacles. Best of luck in all you do, whether it's this or anything else. Your success as a human being doesn't depend on success in IM, finances, or anything else. It depends solely on being ethical and being true to yourself, whatever that may mean for you.

    To answer some questions/queries I didn't address:

    1. I have/had two websites. One was an Amazon site that got the dreaded Sandbox hammer with no way out of it (has never happened to me before). It did get one sale. The other was a dud Adsense site. Both sites will be off the face of the internet when I allow my Hostgator subscription to expire (there won't be anymore use for it).

    2. I think someone mentioned I should go get a loan. No way that is gonna happen, I've thrown that possibility out of the window.

    3. I'm not here to make excuses, this is fact.

    4. The Amazon/Adsense report will be delayed while I clear my mind of this IM thing. Right now, I'm trying to heal from this and try to find my next move. It WILL be coming soon.

    5. And finally, I just want to give my fellow 261,184 Warriors here a big THANK YOU. Thank you for being so helpful and supportive of me, not to mention the laughs. This is the numero uno community to learn IM, it simply doesn't get any better than this.

I must reiterate, though - this is NOT, by any means, a departure from IM due to frustration. (it did and does work for me). This is a departure from IM because of the lack of startup funds. Rest assured that IF I can get some more money (the chances of which are pretty slim at this point), I WILL be back. I have the knowledge. I have to apply the knowledge. But if I don't have the cash, it's all over.

If you know of a way to generate cash without cash (other than getting a job, which for me has about the same chance of me surviving in Antarctica for a full year with no clothes on), I'd like to hear it.
