That is so funny I would be tempted to give him a backlink just for the effort. But then I would come to my senses and be irritated like I usually am.

Tiff leave it to you to bring humor to something so bad. This guy gets an A for effort but an epic fail for the link.

I wonder-is there such a thing as ethical spam? :p
    Cheers for the chuckle

    Lol - that is funny!

Talking about blog comment spam - I commenting on a blog the other day - my comment related to the post and my website related to the niche.

Now I've received an email from this guy - so instead of blog comment spam it's turned around the other way - he's grabbed my email from my comment and spammed me!

I don't think it was an honest spammer. I have had a couple of comments recently that were almost the same, just slight changes to the wording. It seems like a clever attempt to trick people into thinking that it isn't an automated comment.

Wow, Tiffany - inspiration!!!!!! Great topic for my next WSO!!!!!!

    Not...

My own experience with blog spamming was the guy who dropped a short but relevant comment at one of my niche blogs. Once he was approved, the next day I had 63 comments, all spam, all automatically posted because he'd been approved. So I turned comments off entirely. Big downer there.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,

I'd laugh but when you look at this in wider terms it's really quite sad.

A lot of marketing that people and businesses do is, at its core, about as effective as this.

Many people and businesses are so concerned with their own problems and wants that they simply won't take their eyes off themselves and start thinking in terms of what other people want, what problems they have and how they might be of genuine service to others.

If you go through your own marketing how much can you find that is basically just begging or focused on yourself?

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh

There were some spammers posting comments a while back saying that the commenter was being held prisoner by Russian spammers and forced to post comments. They begged the blogger to approve the comments so they wouldn't be killed by the spammers.

Had to give them points for originality, but what I didn't have to do was approve the comments. ;o)
