How much sleep do you get a night?

So I've noticed that since starting IM a little more than a year ago, I only get about 4 hours a night because I'm just so excited to wake up and get back to work.

Lazy has become a workaholic. Go figure.

How about you?

    I work all the time
I sleep when I cannot stay awake anymore 6 something am this morning I went to bed up at 1 so I get some sleep but most of the time it is a few hrs I have a lot of work going I am in development of a Real make money solution that is being professionally rewritten for me now. I am always active doing something.

More often than not I tend to get somewhere between 3-5 hours of sleep per night. Unlike you though it isn't because I'm excited to get up in the morning and get back to work, but because I'm excited to stay up working on IM and then have to drag myself out of bed to go to my day job.

There are more times than I would like to admit too where I simply push through the night without any sleep. Haven't done that in awhile though, although I came pretty close just a couple of nights ago.

Derek, you're a machine. I don't know how you do that commute.

It usually isn't too bad - about an hour to hour and fifteen to travel the 65 miles each way. My all-time worst commute was two winters ago where I left work a little before 3pm and I pulled in the driveway a touch after midnight. Yeah, I spent more time driving home from work than I had spent at work. Needless to say I worked from home the next day.

For the most part, the drive really doesn't bother me though. It gives me some good time to let my mind wander on ideas.

I feel ya. I was living in San Diego a few years back, and I wanted to visit my sister up in Santa Monica. That's 120 miles or so. It took me 9 hours.

I like 8 to 9. I haven't done the stay awake until you fall asleep where you are routine in years. That really isn't good for your health.

Blessed with the luxury of working from home on my own terms, I've become quite Lazy myself, and aren't really accustomed any longer to sleeping for less than 8 hours or so.

Recently though, for reasons unknown, I've been suffering from a bit of insomnia, and have been forced to get by on much less than this - typically about 4-5 hours sleep in total, but very broken and not good "quality" at all.

To say I feel weird - and knackered - would be quite the understatement.

    *Hallucinates.*

I used to have really bad insomnia myself. I was placed on Ambien. I stopped taking it when I woke up in my car with the keys in the ignition, and my clothes on backwards.

I think I'll stick to alcohol, then. At least then only the latter part rings true with me.

Humor seemed more fun, but if you want a real answer it's anywhere from 4 to 7 hours a night. I usually work until 3 or 4 AM. It's quiet then. My wife is sleeping, the phone doesn't ring, no one drops by, I can get a lot done -- plus I've always been a night person.

Then I sleep until I wake up. I really like that part.

I do not really know how many hours I sleep at night. I keep waking up. The slightest noise gets me wide awake. Then it takes a bit of time to get back to sleep. I do not really look at the clock as it would get me worrying all the more. Judging from the way my eyes look, I do not really get much sleep.

I've been this way since August last year, when burglars broke into our house and stole a complete PC set and a cellphone. It's proving very hard to recover from the experience. The fact that they were able to break in so easily really is in my nerves.

You might want to talk to a therapist about those issues. Post traumatic stress can turn into a life long thing if you don't deal with it early enough.

Wow... I'd be the same way...
had some bums/punks(who must of thought they were worse off than me-grr) come in my backyard and take brand new edger/hand tools...and took me a month to start sleeping ok again. Back porch light is on every night now.....
would have been really bad off if they came into the house...

The rules are: 8 hours of sleep, 8 hours of job and 8 hours of rest in the 24 hours a day that God give us. I sleep only 6 from them, I work 4-6 hours a day and I am losing 4 hours I don't know where. The others that left are fun and other responsibilities.

Its 6AM here. I've not gone to bed all night because all i've been doing is Research, plugging away at my e-book, and reading WF.

Its hard for me to stop as well because I LOVE what I do. I love everything about marketing. For some reason it is very liberating to me. I myself have been very lazy in my life. Now I'm a workaholic because I dont feel like im working. That's how you know you've chose the right field of work. lol.
