Photo Timeline of My Baby Son, Lucas

Here is a photo timeline of my baby son Lucas from birth to 8 months old. Lucas was born with a full head of dark hair which, like many babies, fell out, and new hair of a slightly lighter color grew in.

The photos reflect his development from when he started smiling, to playing with toys, to flipping through books, to his first two teeth, to doing the motions of walking while being balanced in adult's hands.

He's a beautiful boy. I love the peaceful look on his face when he's sleeping. So nice to see this kind of video on here.

I am grateful. I now wonder why some parents keep on thinking their kids should be grateful. I'm the one who feels grateful.

I have two step-daughters and 7 grandchildren from them, but was never blessed with children of my own. It's my biggest sorrow in life, short of losing family and friends who have passed on.

Sorrow? Before Lucas came along, I had actually pretty much figured that my wife and I weren't going to have children and had accepted that without feeling any sorrow at all (maybe even relief). My creative projects were my babies . At the time, her pregnancy kind of scared me; she was considered high risk. Of course I am happy that we have Lucas with us. He's laughing joyously as I write this, picking up cars and plonking them onto the 'Lil Zoomers racetrack (It was a thrill for me to see him do that the first time I saw it).

I did too when I was younger. Things change...and everyone is different.

Perspectives do change, for sure. Mine sure has.

Yes, everyone is different. Imagine if everyone was that same?

    What a beautiful baby!

You don't feed him much, do you.

(this is supposed to funny and said when a baby is nice and chubby like they are supposed to be with lots of places for G-Ma's and etc to pinch them.)

Makes me miss having a baby (almost) now that my son is an adult and not chubby and smelling of baby powder anymore.

awwwwwwwwww. I like them almost as much as puppies...

Aahhh! Congrats on a beautiful child. As others say---ENJOY!

We just got back from seeing our newest grandchild (nine days old today!) and your video makes me want to take an immediate return trip.

      Thanks for the sharing.

I've taken the video down at my wife's request. She didn't want it up on YouTube. She has more sense than I do. That said, if I was sensible I would never have gone to China and never would have met her in the first place, lol. I've noticed that a lot of history's great adventurers, like me (not calling myself a great adventurer), were also kind of irresponsible when they set first off on their travels, as I did, to avoid getting a real job or whatever.
