wordpress help

yeah...i know..it is actually more of an upstairs question (put it there, will see if I get any answers lol)
but I know the smart ones hang out down here and actually help <snicker>

I need help with this one...I am using the
Twenty Ten 1.1 wp theme...

but I can NOT seem to figure out how to change the home page from the 'nothing found' message.
It is not a blog so I don't want it to be a "post''.....just a home page with link to 'join/register' along with intro text.

Anyone that can help point me in the right direction with how to do this is MUCHO appreciated!!
I really wanted to get it launched this weekend; but not being a programmer (most files are php)..........I can't figure out how to make this work.

  • Go to admin/reading, at the top of that page make your front page static.

    Then put anything on there, and it won't say nothing found.

    • Yeh check off "static", which will make the "post" look like a single page website etc
