Why Question threads are always popular?

HAHA... I wanted to write this because my eye caught a marketing trend right here on WF that I thought was funny.

What are some of the most popular threads on WF. Question Threads.
IE: Which Hollywood Actress Is A Cannibal? What do you listen to when you're working? Do you live with your parents? Ect...

Why?

1 reason: Impressions and Exposure.

Question threads are easy to put up, pull other people in to make quick comments, which in turn keeps the topic bumped, which leads to more posts.

Why is it valuable to have topics trending at the top of a forum? This should be easy... Signature impressions.

I'm not advocating against this. I just thought it was funny, wanted to know if anyone else sees the same thing, and wanted to get in a few impressions myself. =P Chow.

Questions are not only good for threads but they are good for marketing as a whole. I seen a banner with a question today regarding weight loss.

It's not that simple. Many of those threads have responses from people just looking for a place to make a quick post (no knowledge required) to get their own sig seen.

If you want to build a reputation, those questions won't do it. More often they label someone as very young, not serious or a clueless newbie. Some people spend too much time on youtube and huffypost.

Silly question can be fun to banter in for the Off topic section - but they don't count as posts here, either.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.
