I ve noticed a few more "big" companies using this, open calais, zemanta, And I think, alchemy, and of course twitter and I would dare to say rss and news sites. Seems to be growing in popularity
I know open calais you can have "real time", news and auto suggestions, using their api, as well as zemanta.
I have tried both but they kind of "hung up" my loading time, so I quit using them.
That's not really my point.
Is there a way to "own" this technology, without using a middleman type of companies api?
Does anyone have a simple or (simplified) way of explaining this. As far as, is it a software? How is this done?
And if this trend keeps on, think twitter, do you think this is going to change business, search rankings, etc... More than any of Googles algorithm dances put together?
I also put this question on the main forum, because I would really like to find out about this.
