I laughed and said that the comments I made were about no one in particular, and those comments could easily fit a dozen people I know.
I was talking about human nature, without naming my friends' friend as the jack wad I was talking about.
I did not identify the context of the story, but I did describe the affair in terms of what everyone understands about the nature of some people.
I let my critic know that my post was never intended to be about him, and I asked if his assumption that it was about him indicated that he had a guilty conscience.
LOL
Often times, how you react to things tells more about you, than the original story in which you were reacting.
If you want to paint yourself in a pretty picture: try acting instead of reacting.
