I got a call from a friend of mine (Rachel) to say that there was a house available to rent in her village in West Sussex. The house is owned by Rachel's friend (Mikki), so Rach put in a good word for me. I went down to see it at the end of last week and thought that it was cool, so on Monday I called Mikki and said "Yes".

I'm so excited to be getting the hell out of Cleveland. I move on 29th December. Moving day can't come soon enough.

WOOOO HOOOO!!!!

Guys, I moved house on the 29th of December. It went well -- but I wouldn't recommend moving at that time of year to anyone else.

I hastily/foolishly re-connected the phone service in the new house with the company used by the previous tenant (Scottish & Southern Electric) only to discover that they don't offer broadband...

I'm now in the (long) process of transferring the connection to British Telecom, and that will be completed (together with new phone number) on the 20th Jan. Once that's done, I can apply for a broadband installation which will take another 5 days. So hopefully, I'll be back on WF at the end of January.

I've only been able to type this because a friend has generously given me access to their machine.....

    Best wishes guys,
    John.

Change your energy company John. S&S are a nightmare for
many people including my eldest daughter. They steadfastly refuse
to accept atm that If she switched everything on in her flat continuously
24/7 that the bill would be less than half of what they try to bill her for.
This has been going on for two years now. One S&S person agrees, then
another one or the billing software changes it back again aaaargh!

Thanks for the tip, Mike. I'm still borrowing time on a friend's computer -- I've got the new phone number, now i've got to organise the broadband...
