Afternoon all

I have just dusted off the 2nd laptop and have re formated it but for some reason the brouser is very slow :confused: by that i mean after the reformat and conection to wireless no problem Have to use IE6 but the status bar at the bottom goes soooo slow

Laptop abt 3 yrs old Asus J610 I think, any budding tech gurus may have an Idea as to my problem !

    As soon as you do a format you should always install drivers. Either from discs that came with the laptop or by downloading them from the net. I'm presuming your network cards drivers need updating.

    Why do you have to use IE6? Do you normally use IE? Try Firefox or Chrome and see if that makes a difference.

      Mike I took it back to the factory setup (F9) and it was ok but for the dam internet i have the wireless contect to Big pond so all is goo there just so slow and I can not access another brouser on here so i am a bit stuffed lol

    Even though you did a factory restore your wireless network may need its drivers updated. If its been a while since you use the laptop, you may have only been using 56K or ADSL, but I presume you are on a ADSL2+ connection?

    Do me a favor and go to Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and check your connection speed and let me know what it says. Just click the Begin Test button when you get there.
