Can Youtube Be So Stupid?

Just got an email from Travis on his video being removed for inappropriate content. This is REALLY ridiculous. I can't understand how in the world his video can be considered inappropriate.

While I still hope his video comes back, I am wondering what criteria Youtube uses to consider something inappropriate. Anyone with half a brain would be able to figure out that there is nothing inappropriate about that video.

      Sure seems like there is much more to this than inappropriate. Seems like maybe some of his competition might be behind the scenes on this one...

      Not sure...just the old conspiracy theory...

      Bottom line...just seems weird.

    Yes, he mentioned his competition did it. But how in the world can they remove it without applying the slightest logic in the world? I guess that's the downside of relying purely on automated queries to decide if a video is appropriate or not.

    My all account got deleted after some funny guys flagged (I guess) all my videos. It was a perfect Youtube channel filled with videos with MY unique voice over, MY images and MY words.

    Just got a message saying it was deleted and bye bye.

    Guess a couple different IP's flagging videos CAN bring you down.

    Go Google!!!

      Your videos should always be on your own site...Hosted by you.

      YouTube is great for promotional stuff. They can send tons of traffic to your site but should never be used as a video host.

      This is exactly why...you don't control what happens.

    Google sucks now (maybe they always have). They're so large that it doesn't matter if they lose a channel with a couple dozen videos - there's tons more with similar content that people aren't complaining about, even if it is your competition.

    I'm sure to them it's erring on the side of caution, which is actually what most of us do with our own online businesses. It's just cheaper to wipe out content that could potentially upset visitors than spend the time and effort to find out if the claim is legit.
