Wow,
i mean i don't smoke or booze and am already losing hair?
I can find hair on my pillow cover when i wake up in the morning..
Not really sure why is it so?
Its genetic but i don't wanna be bald in a few months

Well it's naff all to do with drinking smoking exercise etc...it's moslty genetic. You are either going to go bald or not. Pot luck. Finasteride, wig, hair transplant Minoxidal...IGNORE all other junk and magic potions they do not work. Oh I read just last wek there is an injection its way thet wil lgrow your hair back for 4-6 months at a time..not sure how far off it is. Or just accept it..your choice. I had a friend in school started going bald at 14..was like Kojak by mid-twenties.

      Been there, done that.
      You've got three choices.
      1. If you're really vain you can try every hairloss product out there until you finally except you're going bald.
      2. Wear a hat to cover it if you're only a little vain.
      3. If you're not vain, embrace it and look forward to the money you'll save in hair cuts and shampoo.

Or if you have a warped since of humor, you can grow your beard real long and do a comb up. Not that I've done that:rolleyes:

How much hair are you finding on your pillow in the morning? Just a few or a lot? If you're finding big wads of it you might wanna talk to your doctor.

Balding is completely normal, but it happens very gradually and can take years. If you have a lot of hair on your pillow and this just started recently, it could indicate another problem like a hormone imbalance or something else, which can be identified and fixed pretty quickly.

YEP, alcohol CAN reduce baldness! FACT!!!!!!

      1. Alcohol can lower testosterone. Accepted fact.
      2. Lower testosterone can lower DHT! FACT!
      3. Lower DHT can reduce baldness! THAT is how propecia works. It reduces an enzyme that changes testosterone into DHT.

      BTW castration works faster!

Maybe you misunderstood. I meant castrattion can help to recover some hair, and prevent baldness. I'm with Kurt on this though. Being bald isn't great, but I wouldn't want to be castrated either. And propecia is ok for men, but you don't want little boys, or pregnant women anywhere near it.

Sometimes items appear in the news about cures to baldness, eg:
UBC Researcher Seeking a Cure for Baldness - UBC Reports
Scientists Cure Baldness in Mice; Mice Fedora Industry Panics - New York News - Runnin' Scared

There was some news some years back about how electromagnetic stimulation to the scalp stopped hair loss and even stimulated new growth.

The same thing that causes baldness causes prostrate cancer. Tostesterone. Male hormones.

In fact I read an article this week that while they don't start testing men until their 40s and 50s for prostrate cancer, they have found an association in men who go bald in their 20s and they may be more likely to get prostrate cancer.

So they are saying it might be best to start getting tested in your 20s if you are already losing your hair.

It seems mostly genetic with prostrate cancer as well as baldness.

If a guy is healthy and well groomed (clean) they can still be hot when they are bald. (just don't do comb overs which are just gross).

I have a neighbor guy who is sooooo cute and he has long hair and always wears a baseball cap. When I saw him without the cap I realized he is really going bald on top. He is still hot hot hot!

This maybe a silly question but apart from your fear that you are going bald, is there anything else stressful going on in your life? I know I have had periods of time where I got really stressed(school, work etc) and bald patches started appearing(unfortunately, not in the right places where I would have liked them to appear, if you know what I mean )

I've heard that about 50% of men go bald. Of course, that IS to varying degrees. Apparently, a lot of women have hair loss too, but they start off with a lot of options and are expected to have more hair so, ironically, it is easier to cover up.

Don't worry about it, if you are going to lose it then you are going to lose it. Most women do not find hair loss unattractive in a man. Whatever you do don't try to cover it up it just doesn't work. Just go with it and you will be fine. Anyway just cos its falling out a bit now doesn't mean it will continue to do so at the same rate.

Propecia DOES work, and apparently has no material side effects in men, though you probably want to clean your hands VERY well after taking tablets and before touching your wife, etc... The stuff can be absorbed through the skin!

And yeah, there seem to be three stages in most balding, and it ends up just affecting the TOP of the head. I don't even know if healthy males ever get bald anywhere else. MANY that I have seen that are bald there SHAVE, etc... to get that effect.

I started losing my hair from the age of 17, that was nearly 30 years ago.

For me, there has been 5 stages of baldness.

    1. Denial - I'm not losing my hair, the cat must've been sleeping on my pillow

    2. Shock and Anger - Sh*t ! I think I'm losing my hair. I blame my mum! OK, she's not bald, but her brothers were!

    3. Cover up and Scheming - I'll buy expensive hair products and look into medical treatments. Afterall, it can't be long before they find a cure. Maybe for now I'll wear lots of hats (not at the same time - that would just be silly!) And anyway, I'm not bald, I'm balding - there's an important difference!

    4. Depression - What's the point, there's no cure? I'll clip what I've got left and just be ugly for the rest of my life.

    5. Acceptance - Sod this! Where's the razor, I'm going cueball. Let's embrace this thing and only wear hats when I'm cold!

It only took me 25 years to get to stage 5.

Don't waste time, cut out the heartache and go for stage 5 now (I'll let you off with maybe going to stage 4 first. But only stay there for a month or two then polish your head!)

    Have fun!

Stand on your head for a few minutes now and then to get a healthy blood flow exchange, exercise for blood flow, too (good for whole body) - and keep away from toxins. Yep, good advise, l am way older than 21, and still have it!

But as Sal has said, you can spend up to $25 a bottle for some supposedly healthy or effective shampoo, con, and still end up putting a truckload of long spelling chemicals in your hair!

And by the way the combination shampoo, conditioner should be avoided like the plague!

I use TeeTree oil for shampoo, (healthiest thing l could find outside a health food shop) and make my own conditioner!

And don't shampoo more than a few times a week!

And excessive stress can play a part!

        Good luck!

I think you need to change the shampoo that you're currently using. Try to use something that has an anti-hair fall formula.

You know what they say about bald men ...

Men who bald at the front are thinkers.
Men who bald at the back are romantics.

And men who go bald all over think that they are romantic.

So, this old thread got ressurected by "Hair Transplant Center"? Anyway, mild electrical stimulation to the hair follicles has been found to stop baldness.

I'm glad my genetics allowed me to keep my hair beyond 21 so far. I feel sorry for the OP and will hold a candlelight vigil in remembrance of your hair.
