I may have found my calling in life; what do you think of this music I made?

Title says all, here it is: Bar at Midnight

It's a New Age song. Just some nice relaxing music. A bit short though. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Very beautiful and peaceful. Do you have more? How long have you been playing and writing music?

Well, I do have one other one. I don't think it's quite ready yet, but since you asked, I'll go ahead and post it.

      lonely army

I haven't been composing for very long to be honest. I've just been dabbling a bit, and these two songs are the result of that.

Great start. I enjoyed both. Bar At Midnight ended too soon, I was only just in the middle of being lulled away. I also didn't care for the fade to end the song, it felt incomplete. Otherwise, it's great.

How do you compose? What tools and software do you use?

Yeah, I felt Bar was too short at first. But that was the default length the program gave me, and I was too lazy to extend it. I may do an extended version later on.

I use the MusicShake software. It's very easy to pick up and use. I've been using it for two days now.

What kind of musical background do you have? Formal training? Self-taught?

None whatsoever. I played the bells in junior high, but quit that. I also tried playing the piano recently, but quit that too.

For ages I've been composing songs in my mind. It's taken me a while to find some software that made it easy enough for me to compose them though.

That is freaky. Raw natural talent. Did you sing a lot as a child?

Pfffft. Heck no. I'm a decent singer, but I could never sing solo.

By the way, I completed another song, my favorite so far: strings of a feather

EDIT: I just wanted to add that I'm no musical prodigy. Musicshake does a lot of the work for me. I'm just choosing and assembling premade musical loops and chords. It'd be nice if I could make my own though, musicshake doesn't let you do that.

I compose music as well, have been doing it since I was like 10-12.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you pick up FruityLoops if you're serious about this thing.

It's a great program, really easy to use.

Yep, that is a good program. It's a bit complicated for me though. I don't like messing with all the plugins and whatnot just to make a song. Plus it's hard to find good tutorials for it too. I mean, from beginner to complete song. Most of what I found just cover individual features which make no sense to me.
