You've obviously never been to Adelaide then.

I went there once, but it was closed.

Melbourne, pfffft. You can't even get a schooner of beer there. Have to buy twice as many beers to even get tiddly. Pffft again.

If Melbourne had experienced what Brisbane, and now Christchurch have recently gone through, it would be called "Urban Renewal".

Sydney is the place to be at the moment, with the voters of NSW ready to take to the incumbent government with baseball bats, chainsaws, sticks, stones, and everything else they can get their hands on. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.

And at least they've got a footy side that is nicknamed after a bird. Should be an Eagle rather than a Swan though. Perhaps they want to be Eagles, but had to accomodate the "Mardi Gras" crowd. I'll say no more on that lest I get hit by a flying handbag.

Anyway, there seems to be a mis-spelling in that list. They mis-spelt Perth as Vancouver, and mistakenly placed it in Canada. Must have been compiled by a Victorian.

      Let the flames begin.

Nowhere near it, or even Paddington for that matter.

Where I live, the men are real men. So are the women.

The list is a huge joke, lets just put it to that.

If Australia is the best the world has to offer, then lets all just jump of a bridge now.

Or the violence in the streets in the night club districts
Or the public trnasport that's never on time & when it arrives it's so crowded you can't get on
Or the out of control drunks
      Or the drug users
      Or the race gangs

Other than that ... seems ok

Same can be said for Vancouver. I'm surprised, because of the high cost of living, it ranked where it did.

it was housing, recreational facilities, climate, health care, schooling, etc...i have no idea how these lists are drawn up. Ones person paradise is one persons hell. I gues they have tried to quantify human emotion.

    Funny thread!

I prefer Sydney vs Melbourne, I lived there for 6-7yrs, and now in Melbourne...

Sydney has SO much more to do and offer ... drive along the coast line
to hang out at all the beaches with Free Parking and Convenient Amenities.

Just checkout sydney on google maps vs melbourne.

Im really suprised at the list (like Ernie),

    1. Vancouver, Canada - I really want to go here!
    2. Melbourne, Australia - What the Hell Is Melbourne Doing Here!??
    3. Vienna, Austria
    4. Toronto, Canada
    5. Calgary, Canada
    6. Helsinki, Finland
    7. Sydney, Australia - This should be swapped with Melbourne 100%
    8. Perth, Australia - WTF!?
    8. Adelaide, Australia - Even MORE WTF!??
    10. Auckland, New Zealand - OMG. Whoever added these last 3 entries must've been STONED.

Im orginally from NZ, Lived in Sydney, Now In Melbourne ...
and will be buying in Sydney Late Next Year to finally settle down in a place I love.

Sydney ... No Melbourne ... DOOF. Sydney Wins.

    Why?

    Because Sydney is bigger
