Whats up with Russian blog comments?

OFF TOPIC

I just went into a blog I haven't been in for awhile and I had a ton of comments. Most of these appear to be from Russia and for the most part look like legitimate comments. I know they likely have an agenda. Does anyone have a clue of what they are up to? No good probably but what would it be?

getting a lot of spam on my blog this week, too (So grateful for Askimat!)
I just figured some yahoowhack in here ran a special on backlinking, LOL.

Russians know about backlinking, too - and aren't above the same type of spam you see in English. Just treat it like any other spam.

I get hundreds of spam comments on my blog. Cant check each and every comment. So I just read one from 50 comments and if its acceptable then I accept.
